Rebecca O: Purchased a construction master 5 just under a year ago September 2022 to reace it's predessessor which was the exact same make and model and I had it for 18yrs with absolutely no issues with it whatsoever so when it came time to replace it I obviously wanted to buy the exact same model again. However this model although exactly the same as my last one seems to have battery issues. The battery that came with the unit has lasted for about 6 weeks and every battery I have purchased since then has lasted roughly same length of time. Bearing in mind that the 6 weeks are spaced out as I can go weeks without using the unit at all. The unit is now in need of its 4th battery since ownership so something isn't right given my history with the previous one which had had 3 battery's over the 18yrs so I know how to use the calculator. I would love to know if I just have a Monday morning calculator or do others have issues with thiers and does anyone know does amazon have a return policy and if so how do I do that.

craneman: Use for fractional calculations in steel fab shop for layout, etc. This tool is accurate and nearly priceless when adding fractions of inches.

Kevin Freese: I am currently in a building trades college program and this model of construction calculator was a listed on the required items list. If you are familiar with a Texas Insturments TI-30 Scientific Calculator (or something similar) this con calc is going to feel pretty similar, the real difference is in the programmed keys. A function guide fits folded inside a pocket on the back which is handy. The manufacturer also offered a number of armored skins and padded pouches for their calculators aswell.
