AndyAndy: Anständige Größe mit 2 Litern, allerdings wird der erste Eindruck schon vor der Benutzung getrübt. Die Kanne ist komplett verschmiert mit schwarzem Staub. Vermutlich sind das Produktionsrückstände, die mit einem Lappen verwischt wurden. Das ist besonders an den Kanten des Griffs und des Siebstabkopfes zu sehen.
Die Kanne braucht eine gründliche Reinigung vor der ersten Benutzung. Ob sie, wie angepriesen, "hochglanzpoliert" ist, kann ich ebenfalls noch nicht beurteilen.

Bei mir passen irgendwie auch nur 1,8 Liter rein, ohne Kaffeemehl. Ich muss wohl anderes Wasser haben.

Augenscheinlich ist die Verarbeitung aber gut.

Es sieht wie Fabrikrohware aus, die nicht richtig zum Verkauf vorbereitet wurde. Ebenso ist keinerlei Dokument im Karton, das ist schon sehr ungewöhnlich.
Daher ziehe ich zwei Punkte ab.

Carina: Ich hatte nach einer Kaffeekanne für 4 Personen fürs Camping gesucht und bin begeistert! Genug Fassungsvermögen und die Kanne hält den Kaffee auch bei einem langen Frühstück bis zum Ende schön warm.
Positiv ist auch, dass an dem Sieb ein Gewinde ist, mit dem es sich an der Drückstange anschrauben lässt. So kann man beim Spülen keine Schraube verlieren, wenn man alles auseinander nimmt.

Amazon Customer: This is a great press! Holds a great deal of coffee and keeps coffee warm for a short while, however, the cleaning is a challenge in that I cannot disassemble the part that you press down that contains the screen. It doesn't seem to come apart, so I have to diligently shoot water and soap into it as best as I can in order to get the grounds out of it. That's the only down-side, but otherwise a good product.

James Redford: seems OK build but plunger squeaks and is stiff very tight lid but when you pour coffee into it its expands and lets the heat out would like to have seen spare filter mesh. a bit pricy for what it is.

Erica: This is a sturdy, well made press that will last for years. After having several glass presses broken by our kids, I knew we needed a stainless one. I was so happy to find a giant French press so that I’m not making coffee for an hour straight when we have company! The extra price for the extra big size is worth it! It keeps the coffee hot for a long time, so it is still hot when the last bit is poured!

Martin: The volume is exactly what I was looking for since I drink coffee all day and have no problem reheating it, so it's nice not to have to be constantly putting the kettle on. It's also excellent when there's more than one coffee drinker in the house or for entertaining. A superficial dislike is the mirrored finish as I would prefer a matte or brushed finish like my smaller Frieling press. Quality of materials is not the same. However, it they were the same as the Frieling or an Alessi, many would consider it too heavy and too expensive. A practical dislike is that the press assembly does not come apart for easy cleaning. Nonetheless, the overall quality is a good value for the price and I am satisfied with my purchase..

B. Gulko: Really liked this product. Solid, large (honest 2 liters), double-walled construction kept coffee warm, and I found it easy to pour. I also liked the polished metal exterior and design. In fact, the lid has an interior lip to hold it in place, along with a beveled indent that can be rotated to the front to increase the pouring opening or rotated away to decrease it and seal in more heat. Bravo! However, I could not escape a metal taste that I perceived in coffee that came from it. In a household of 4, two of us tasted a metal flavor, and one did not (one was unasked). We tried washing it out with vinegar and using it over several weeks in the hopes that the taste would resolve, because otherwise the product was a delight. While the metal taste seemed to diminish about 60% with vinegar treatment, repeated cleaning and use, the taste was still too strong for me at the end of the return window, so we returned it. The same coffee made in a glass press had little or no metal flavor. Our experience might be the result of a one-off manufacturing issue, something about the brushed metal finish on the inside, or metal on metal contact of the inside pot wall with plunger but we ultimately...

Martin: We got this for our Bed and Breakfast business. Previously, we had several large Bodums, but they kept breaking.

This press is sturdy and well made. Obviously, it will dent or scratch, but it's going to last many years and will save us a lot of money on carafes.

The filter and lid are built entirely of stainless steel (the unit has no plastic or rubber parts at all). People complain about a rubber smell when plastic parts are used.

In contrast to the Bodum, the Grunwerg has no places which are hard to clean. The lid part is double wall stainless steel with a hole through it for the plunger. There are no nooks and crannies for grease to collect, except where the plunger goes through, and that doesn't need cleaning.

You can pour just fine when the lid is in any position, but it tapers on one side so you can turn it and pour faster.

In contrast to the glass-carafe Bodum, the Grunwerg pours much better: it does not spill out the sides even when poured fast.

The filter from our old Bodum works for the Grunwerg, it's the same size.

It keeps coffee hot a lot longer than a glass carafe, but not nearly as long as a thermos. It would be fine...

Donna B: Yes, that is how my wife says it in the morning. It better be hot, it better be fresh and this french press delivers the goods. The only reason we got this one is because I couldn't find the HFD-16 (which makes 16 cups of liquid goodness) anywhere on the planet. Apparently it's a new product and not yet available.

Back to the HFD-12 and the good news: I give it 5 stars for ease of cleaning with the brushed stainless interior and chrome mirror finish on the outside. The press unscrews completely for people like me who feel the need to clean the strainer. 5 stars again for keeping coffee hot, and I mean HOT! Not your BS it's been sitting in the auto-drip pot hot, but burn your mouth if you don't blow on it FREEKIN' HOT! Even the lid is insulated and has a slope on one side to pour, after pouring turn it to keep it hot. We use an electric kettle to boil the water for it, add water it to the grounds in the press, wait 5-7 minutes, press and drink. Want your coffee hotter? Run hot water in the press just before adding the coffee and boiling water. We did this once, but have found it unnecessary. Another 5 stars for craftsmanship and value. It's worth the money.
