Damien: I purchased this adapter almost 10 years ago! It's still working well, which goes to show you how great it is. The build quality is top-notch, with sturdy materials that feel durable and long-lasting.

Whether I'm connecting my laptop to a projector for a presentation or hooking up my gaming console to a monitor, this adapter never fails to deliver a crisp and clear video output. The signal transmission is flawless, with no noticeable loss in quality or lag.

It's easy to carry around in my laptop bag, making it a convenient accessory for on-the-go professionals like myself. Additionally, the adapter's plug-and-play functionality makes it incredibly user-friendly. I simply plug it in, and it's ready to go, no drivers or software installations required.

Catalin.Catalin.: Great adapters, no problems. Using them for working remotely, and absolutely no issues. Would buy again.

Kenneth Conroy: I tried both these adapters and the DP to VGA adapter cables by the same company. I have a laptop dock with two DP and one output, and monitors with VGA inputs. Some (more expensive) adapters from Office Depot worked fine, but I tried these... and found that any time I either turned on the screens, or set them to VGA input, I had interference, wavy lines, and other instability that was serious enough to render the monitor effectively unusable. Since I switch inputs frequently, this made the adapters unusable as well. They'd probably be fine in a static environment where switching doesn't happen, but for me, they were a no-go. The same issue occurred with the DP to VGA cables, so it seems to be a flaw in whatever IC the manufacturer is using to translate from DP to VGA.

In the end, I paid the extra $10 for StarTech's adapter cables, and they work flawlessly. If you don't need the same level of stability as I do, or if you have faith that your system isn't as picky, these are probably fine and you can save $10. Otherwise, invest in more robust product and spare yourself the headaches.

Oscar Perez: I recently upgraded my computers video card to an RX 480 and I overlooked one tiny detail. The RX 480 doesn't have a DVI port for a VGA adapter. (my 17in Compaq Monitor is good enough for me but it might be time for an upgrade, it only has a VGA input) So I was deciding to either get a DP or an HDMI to VGA adapter. I had issues with the video card and HDMI so I went with this adaptor. It doesn't feel cheaply made or flimsy. I plugged it in normally and it worked wonderfully. No image quality loss or differences from a normal VGA to VGA connection. Definitely worth the money.

Hyman Lipschitz, MD: It came from over the pond in record time. Not only that, it was well packed. They used a bubble envelope and inside, the dongle was in a Mylar (!) bag, ESD-protected and hermetically sealed. The Pro side had a small paper wrapper to call attention to the cable plug computer latch. (What a great idea.) The metal surfaces are all, as they say, gold plated, but even if it's 1 micron, it's still gold plated and not aluminum. Being that there's eight hundred and fifty-two million cords and adaptors here, quality becomes apparent just by looking at how some stuff is made. This little dongle is slated to be connected and never thought about again. Seamless. Transparent. Functional. Acceptable. Good buy, and good-bye.

Fenouil: Works as expected, have to plug and it is detected and operational in seconds, no need for drivers etc... The graphic card detected the screen instantly.
The picture on amazon is not up to date, the product is same brand and very similar but the design looks more recent and better looking (more round shapes) if that matters...
The only annoying point is that the connector is a bit large and I cannot plug two of them to adjacent connectors on my Geforce GTX 960 because they are too close from each other. It is okay for me because I can use another one but might be annoying for others...

Alexi: Dropped a new AMD Radeon R7 260X into my PC only to discover I was short one analog video port. The graphics card has 4 video ports, one digital/analog combo (DVI-I) and 3 digital only (HDMI, DVI-D and DisplayPort). I needed two VGA which is easy if you have enough DVI-I but I had only one and no dedicated VGA on the card. Multiple adapter choices available such as HDMI to VGA or DisplayPort to VGA. My main concern was video quality and resolution. I had run into higher resolution difficulties in the past with VGA to HDMI adapters.

I wound up ordering this adapter and I just fired it up today and the video quality is excellent. To be fair I'm not using high resolution. It is connected to an "aging" 46" Sony KDL46S2000 LCD TV that sports only a single HDMI and VGA. The HDMI was already connected to a PVR. The resolution is only 1360x768 which should hardly be taxing this device. I have not tried this device at higher resolutions.
