pbl57lsupbl57lsu: The media could not be loaded. I read somewhere when looking at optics you want to divide your aperture size by your magnification to get your field of view grade. When you have high magnification and a small aperture you will have a narrow field of view and quality of the image in regards to your eyesight. In my opinion these are too high powered for such a small aperture. I also tried the 12x25, 10x32, 16x32s and was dissatisfied with the field of view, light refraction/glare, fogging, and eye relief. At the 16x32 magnifications I was having difficulty focusing the binoculars at all different foregrounds. The fact of the matter is I'm using these for surveying land at work for prey wildlife and at home for self-defense. It's too hard to get an image into view and clear or at least quickly. For compact I would look at the 10x32 and sacrifice magnification. If you want higher...

Good for casual use. You won't be calling in any air-strkes with these, but if you need to see something less than 100 yards they work well.
Good for concerts, sporting events, or just need to see something far away better.
Compact, light, easy to use. for the price point id recommend

I've had these Bushnell Powerview 12x32 folding roof prism binoculars about 4 weeks. After working out the best way to hold & adjust them to my eyes and after getting used to them, I found them easy to adjust, easy & smooth to focus, clear and conveniently compact.
The binoculars are inexpensive, quick to grab, easy to use and reasonably clear & effective. I use these for quick looks out the kitchen window at birds in nearby trees. . .short dogwoods. They work well for that purpose (I'm not looking up into 80 foot pines with these). I'm anxious to see how they perform out on broad water in a kayak for more distant viewing.
I think I prefer the larger objectives in this compact folding roof prism style binocular (where the objective is 32 part of 12x32 or 16x32). I haven't tried the smaller objective Bushnell roof prism binoculars in this Powerview model but I never have been satisfied with similar smaller binoculars in other brands.
An important consideration is the size of the image presented by the binoculars to the pupil...which is determined by dividing the objective lens size by the power, such as 32 divided by 12. I...

Marty Johncox: I'm a big fan of cheap monoculars and binoculars and have collected dozens over the years. These are the BEST binoculars in the compact low-cost category. Really, there are no high-quality/expensive super compact/folding binoculars but these Bushnells are as good as it gets. I take these out cycling so I can check out wildlife, so I must have the double-folding style. They have excellent image quality - crisp and clear. There's a tiny bit of blurring around the edge but you really have to look for it. There's also a bit of fisheye which you may notice as you move around but I think that's due to the relatively high power/small lens combination and it's acceptable given the price point. The build quality is very good and focusing is steady and accurate. The diopter works well and allows you to really dial in your individual eye setting. I've had binoculars in this price/size point and even more expensive that don't give nearly as good images. The rubber armoring is excellent. If you're looking for extremely compact binoculars with low price, these can't be beat.
