smithy: Due to limited mobility stopping me striding out in the Dales and Lake District I have taken greater interest in the wildlife on their lower slopes and river valleys, and on my doorstep, the millennium forest along the Irwell Valley.

I have been a lifelong user of Olympus optical products and so my search started with them.

I had no knowledge or experience of Bushnell but noticed they featured a lot with retailers of hunting and shooting gear. So I did some background research, and liked what I saw.

I was happy to spend up to £100 for bins that would function in all British weathers and would be tough enough to survive any falls I had. That ruled out the Nikon and Olympus offerings.

As my use will be primarily "countryside" and not mudflats, at sea or vast open plains I wanted a 7 or 8 magnification combined with a 40 or 42 objective lense.

They needed to be fully waterproof porro prisms, because the image quality, field of view and depth of field for viewing wildlife against trees and shrubs is far better than roof prisms. The trade off is the shape looks old fashioned, they are heavier and harder to waterproof.

Marie Dennis: So these are good quality, a bit heavy but for the type of Binos they are that is expected. I am s 5'3 woman and I found these to be cumbersome and a painful to have around my neck for any period of time. I expected them to be heavy but I find these difficult to hold comfortably in my hand. Granted my hands are on the smaller size but it kind hurt my hands to focus and I found it difficult to focus quickly because it was difficult for me to hold. My biggest complaint though is that the eye holes are too far apart for me so even on it smallest setting I don't get to see the whole image through the lenses. The outer edges are in shadow because I can't get my eyes close enough to both lenses. I don't feel like I have particularly close set eyes so this may be a problem for other people as well. That said these are good quality for the price and if these fit you size wise I think they are perfect for beginning birders who want something decent but don't want to spend the big bucks :-)

thx1138: Great product and it arrived on time, I was expecting it to be a little bit smaller but the sizes fine for what I needed it for. I looked at several other expensive brands of binoculars but I found these were almost exactly what I needed. I think these could probably compete against some of the more expensive brands out there and it's great to know that I'm getting a quality product from Bushell. The nylon case that he came with was a little bit cheesy, the dust protectors are also bit of a nuisance to take on and off but that is part of the product. All in all I really love the bushell H2O binoculars. They're great for hunting and any kind of outdoor activity I want to do and the price on them is reasonable. Don't buy into the hype of other binoculars brands, and really think about how often you're actually any use your binoculars that's a question you should really ask yourself when you're buying binoculars. For me this is a great cheap product

Wes: I received these binoculars just as the pictures advertised; they were a dark blue color. They are not heavy at all and the image clarity is amazing. I also enjoy how you can adjust the eye cups to your comfort.

I bought these for my father as a Father's Day gift and he could not be happier. I've used these binoculars mainly at the beach, where I make sure my daughter is swimming safely in the ocean and I also watch the birds and boats go by. At no point did they fog up or did the image become disdorted.

I would highly recommend these binoculars to anyone who wants a cheap, yet quality, pair of binoculars that are waterproof. Sujatha: I bought this for my trip to Grand Canyon and Southern Utah and I liked it immediately. Once I figured out the use of twist up eye-caps, it was incredibly easy to focus. I was able to spot finer details that I would have missed otherwise. It is quite sturdy too. Little heavy compared to other binoculars that I have had in the past. Overall, it was just what I had expected and was worth the money spent!

sbb87: I was going on a puffin watch and wanted something stronger than my small bushnells. These were terrific. I have motion sickness and sometimes because I am trying to see something fast, the rapid eye movement makes me a bit dizzy. I did not experience that with theses binoculars. I could use them with or without glasses. I got these from amazon at a good price with s/h included. They list for $137.00. Amazon has them for ~$70.00 and I paid even less since it was a deal of the day. They arrived quickly and were very well packed. Out of the box, they seemed kind of heavy to me. There is an adjustable padded strap that is detachable and it is quite comfortable. Once around my neck, they did not seem heavy at all. They come in a nice soft material case with a long enough strap to wear cross body and again did not feel heavy. There is a lens cleaning cloth included. There is a booklet of instruction in many languages but honestly, I didn't read it. The eyepiece cover is one piece and there are 2 objective lens covers that fit snugly. The objectives are set deeper in so they stay pretty dry. It was raining the day I used them on a boat. The birds were far away and even...
