Maureen: We purchased this item to replace ours which was lost in a fire. It's great to have extensions when needed or leaving it as is for shorter jobs. The clamps are easy to use and very effective. Having the saw plate makes it simple to keep things perfectly straight. We are VERY pleased with our purchase!

WAH: This saw guide exceeded my expectations. We were faced with putting new skirting on our vacation cabin, and I was trying to figure out how I was going to make straight cuts on a dozen pieces of 3/4" plywood in the middle of the forest 50 miles from my shop. I'm notorious for deviating from a straight line on free hand cuts with my circular saw, and I wasn't looking forward to ripping a dozen pieces of plywood that all seemed to end up with the saw going down the middle of the sheet. The Bora guide and a couple of saw horses did the trick. When you attach the extension with the four screws you can easily cut a sheet of 8' plywood. I was able to do both straight cuts as well as shallow angle cuts by making two passes with the cuts intersecting.

A couple of thoughts. I assembled the extension to get a 100" guide and left it assembled throughout the multi-day project. I don't know how well it would stand up to frequent set up and tear downs, and at 100+" is it awkward to transport fully assembled. For storage, I used a 6' piece of 4" PVC with a screw cap at one end to hold the disassembled guide. Also, a pair of typical saw horses is going to lead to the piece bowing when you...

Stuart N.: This is a tough review to write - this system has so much going for it, but also some drawbacks. I gave it four stars because the drawbacks aren't deal breakers for me and I tend to use it in a way that plays to its strengths, but this could easily have been a 3-star review.

First, the bad news - if you're looking for a reason NOT to buy this system, or if you plan to use it in any of the following ways with great frequency, you might want to save your money.

First, while the circular saw plate works with nearly any saw, it definitely works better with a blade-left saw. I use a 7-1/4" direct-drive cordless with a blade-right configuration and it doesn't fit as easily as my 6-1/2" blade-left saw or corded worm drive.

Second, the extension rail is a big pain. It has 4 tiny screws that are easily lost and that have to be removed, set aside, then reinstalled after the rail sections are joined. The system comes with no replacement screws. Once it's assembled, putting it onto an 8-foot-long work piece is frustrating and time consuming. The rails won't automatically line up straight where they join together so keep a tape measure and 4-foot level handy to keep the...
