samantha: I never had a boppy with my first 2, and even with our 3rd it’s not used as a nursing pillow. The boppy is used by my older to children to assist them in holding our youngest. It’s great for that and holding baby in a seated position. If you’re out to cut expenses with your first, skip the boppy. If you’re looking for those boutique products in your 2nd and beyond babies get the boppy.

Laura Cheng: I bought this to use with my Boppy nursing pillow and have been using it for about 2.5 months. I've experienced a few diaper leaks and blowouts while my baby was on the pillow and it leaked right through the Boppy Pillow Slipcover and this Boppy Water-Resistant Protective Cover. I was able to get the stains out of both covers and the pillow itself, but didn't find that it was very water-resistant at all as it claims to be.
