S Jay: I bought this to create some diy fruit chandelier for decor. It worked well and took the wight very well. It was straight and did not bend, it was sturdy and a healthy piece of wood.

Hildy: I wanted to use it outside, as a backdrop for a house number. Primed it both sides with an oil-based primer and then did several coats of spray paint (both sides) in chosen color. It's very easy to chip the paint off which may be because I used spray paint rather than an oil-based, brush-applied paint so only four stars may be unfair if the paint problem is my fault. I'm hoping it will stand up to the weather but given how inexpensive these disks are, it will be no big deal if I have to replace it. Be aware that the disks are very thin, in case you need something sturdier for your project.
