AM: Rancid, skanky oil is the prominent flavor, along with some artificial room temperature creaminess. Good grief. My first taste of Alabama White sauce and this is putrid. Best before date was conveniently rubbed off the bottle.
Make your own and avoid the spoiled taste and long list of artificial ingredients. I am sure Big Bob would immediately spit this stuff out and toss it as I did.

Shammy: Alabama White Sauce is an interesting take on bbq sauces. It’s hard to find where I reside in the Northeastern United States, and I’d guess most people in my area haven’t heard of it. Instead of the ‘sweet and spicy ketchup’ flavor of more common bbq sauces, Alabama White’s got a mayonnaise base with vinegar and spices for flavoring. I find it’s great on chicken, especially, although it works with other meats too.
I’d describe this particular brand as middle-of-the-road as white sauces I’ve tried go. It’s got a very strong mayonnaise flavor that’s not as cut by the vinegar and spices as I personally prefer in my white sauce. A little too bland for me, although I can see others liking it.
Probably not the best for dipping, but i could see it working for basting the meat.

marilyn's kindle: The sauce came the other day and arrived opened and spilled quite a bit, but I decided to suck it up and try it anyway.
Anyone who says they don't like this sauce is just using it wrong. However, If you don't like saucing your meat or marinading, this isn't for you. I did the following and my chicken came out tasting great:
1. sprinkle some of my favorite spices
2. add the sauce, marinade for a few hours
3. grill on high heat
4. brush with a light coating when finished
In conclusion: great results that many people enjoyed. The sauce by itself doesn't taste that good alone and is very bitter and vinegary. I personally wouldn't recommend using it as a dipping sauce. If you decide to marinade, the vinegar in the sauce makes your meat more tender (but don't over marinade). It's a bit different that your traditional sweet savory BBQ taste but it adds a whole different flavor profile to your meat that I think a lot would enjoy.

Kerry Fischer: I used it on smoked chicken thighs. After I brushed on a thin layer I thought it looked strange. My personnel thoughts....I am not really into saucing meat..... If it does not taste good without sauce, then you are doing something wrong. But I will have to admit on this one, just using a very light coat after taking the chicken out of the smoker and the smoking for 15 more minutes, Chef Chris Lilly has a good thing here. I have used most of my jar or it and need to purchase more. It also works well on the side so that people can taste test it before putting on their food. I can only attest to using it on chicken thighs though.

Nancy Allen: This sauce is very different but tasty. I would probably buy again and I’d recommend it to people who want to try something new
