Comments

Mark Arnott: It's an okay book, well-intentioned, urging kids towards good an useful feelings and things - love, knowledge, affirmations, creativity, ambition - all good and worthy things that can indeed help you feel confident. But when you make feeling confident your goal you are perilously close to wading a participation trophy just for showing up. Useful confidence can be achieved only by doing stuff. Useful confidence is something you must earn - earning that confidence will teach you something about yourself, will make you grow. Training your kids to simply feel confident without enabling them strive - even to strive an fail, but then try again - that sort of training can trap your child. With the best of intentions it will leave them helpless. You must earn the right right to be proud and confident. The feelings this books hope to engender in kids are all very nice things, and good. But if you don't want that confidence to be a hollow feel, you must do something - overcome something - grow.

Mona: My 7 year old loved it. It gave her lot of tips and ideas to boost up her confidence when she is low. It also gave her positive outlook when she is frustrated when she is unable to achieve something.

wiretap: This book was amazing at helping my shy 5 year old feel more confident at kindergarten and understanding his own feelings. We do affirmations almost every day before school and it has made the best difference! Instead of "anxiety" I read it to him as "nervous" since he understands what nervous is and I don't really want to label his fleeting nervous feeling as anxiety this young.

Candice Wildey: Purchased this book for an 8 year old who is dealing with some confidence. And he loves this book. We were able to stop at certain pages have a discussion and examples. I am waiting for a little spot of anxiety to arrive. I do plan to get the whole set. Talks about affirmations which we have been practicing daily before the book and my son was happy to see that the book talks about it. Great book definitely recommend!

Just from listening to me read the book gave my granddaughter extra confidence. This book is outstanding in being really very very creative. Creativity helps children grasp concepts.

Amazon Customer: I think this is my favorite in the series so far! It's so hard to choose. I love the anxiety spot too and it's great to see they go hand in hand. Not only a great social story but what a great tool to use to help kids understand & process their emotions so they can take back the power into their own hands instead of letting their emotions get the best of them. The characters are simple & cute. I think kids love them and the catchy prose the lesson is written in helps kids remember what they need to do when different situations arise. These have definitely been a big help in my house & I would recommend them to mothers & school teachers alike.
