hanley0001: I bought this roll as I wanted to start painting larger works of art. I have used the Arches 10 x 14 Cold Press pad and have even used the Baohong 15" x 10" cold press Academy grade bloc as well as the Baohong 5" x 7" hot press Academy grade water colour pad, which I do not care for. This particular roll of paper behaves nothing like the other cold press papers I have used, the texture and way it absorbs water is more like a hot press paper, which I do not enjoy using. I would not consider using this a typical cold press paper. It would work better if you are used to using hot press or less expensive non cotton cold press. It does not handle a lot of water well. Colours do not mix on the paper well as they do with the Boahong or Arches papers. I cannot even use this paper as a practice paper because of how the paint sits on the paper and does not flow through the paper. I was really hoping this paper would be an alternative to the more expensive watercolour papers.

LC: So I’m not a professional watercolorist - I guess it depends on what your definition of a professional is. I wish I could get this paper in the larger size - but it always seems to be sold out - because of that, I’m limited on what I can paint. Now it doesn’t stay wet as long as arches, so you definitely either work fast, or let the layer dry completely and go back in over the top. I find adding a little extra water upfront gives me more time to charge. I like the feel of the paper - probably not best if you want to add more than five layers. The paper is a little sensitive to scrubbing, so you have to be cognizant of that. Like I said, I love this paper for watercolor, but due to size limitation, it’s not something I can use from a professional standpoint - again - professional is in the eye of the beholder. It’s a shame, great watercolor paper to practice in for charging.

MinMin: The paper arrived fast, on time, but the ends of the roll were not protected inside the box. One end of the roll is a little crumpled, which means I have 2-3 inches along the entire 15-foot roll that will not be usable. I needed it kind of last-minute, so I’m still glad it arrived on time. If you have the time, it might be safer to order the roll from an art supply store instead.

AquaBee paper is my favorite watercolor paper! It’s more of a “soft press” paper, in that it’s less dense than usual artist’s cold press cotton paper. It doesn’t handle overworking very well (will start pilling a little), but that’s one of the things I love about this paper! I prefer a loose watercolor style, and this paper helps me remember to let it be unique. Colors are so vivid on this cotton paper, and water and paint flow and react beautifully!

I don’t usually stretch the paper ahead of time: I’ll tape down the edges before I paint, and leave the tape until it’s dry. If the paper warps (most 140 lb paper will warp if you don’t stretch it), I wet the entire back after I’ve painted & press between flat surfaces and paper towels. Perfectly flat after it...

E. Lutz: Love the size and fact that it is 100% cotton. The price has tripled since I originally started buying it and it is rarely available. Only bought it this time as the price had decreased slightly. Idk if this is a supplier thing with bee paper as I love their sketchbooks as well, which also seem difficult to find these days! All in all it’s a great practice paper :)

Aria: Este papel es bastante bueno. Es 100% algodón y tiene una textura realmente buena (asegúrese de pintar en el lado derecho, uno de los lados tiene una textura más rugosa que es el lado correcto y el otro tiene una textura más suave). Tiene 300GSM, por lo que no se dobla demasiado al aplicar lavados, pero recomiendo estirar el papel con cinta adhesiva si desea aplicar lavados más pesados.
El único inconveniente es que el papel no es muy bueno para levantar, básicamente cualquier acuarela que use, incluso si no mancha, se manchará y no se levantará tanto.
Creo que este papel es un buen papel de práctica de algodón de textura, realmente se parece a la sensación de papeles más caros como Arches, pero a un precio mucho más asequible. Si desea un papel de calidad relativamente superior (yo diría que definitivamente tiene una mejor sensación que los papeles de acuarela de celulosa), esta es definitivamente una gran opción.
