1benz4all: I am a professional baker and this book is not for kids. What kid wants to eat yams or pumpkin seeds. The recipes themselves are not for beginner bakers nevermind for kids.

JanaJana: Had a blast making home made brownies with my daughter. She is 8 and could get through the recipe just fine with me. Actually the first time I’ve ever made home made brownies! Love this and we bonded so well while making them! Can’t wait to make more recipes.

shodack: This is a cute idea, but this book is absolutely NOT for beginners, and my 8 year old will not be able to make any of this without a lot of guidance from me. The recipes look lovely, but are complex and often have ingredients that are not common kitchen items.
Plus the amount of butter and eggs in many of the recipes is just shocking. Chocolate chip cookies with 3 eggs, 1 3/4 cups butter? I can pull the 10 first recipes on Google up and need half of that for as many cookies.
If you're looking for a place to start with your little kitchen helper, I recommend trying something different.

Chas: I bought this book for my grand-daughter. Her mother is an accomplished pastry chef and they love cooking together. What is delightful about Sarah’s book is my grand-daughter is now cooking her own treats, and showing her mom a few tricks.
The joy when eating her treats is only surpassed by the huge smile on my grand-daughter's face when presenting her newest creation to the family.
I agree with the reviews praising the variety of recipes, clear explanations and the fine touch of treating young bakers as capable young people.

Jackie Black: I really think the age range is off for this book. Some of the recipes have a 2 hour prep time? For an 8 year old? We’ve tried 4 recipes and none of them were good, especially the lemon tart. I would recommend looking elsewhere unless you have an experienced baker wanting to try more out of the box type recipes.
