Birdie: I was quite happy with the quality of the paper for these bags. The black had a gentle shine to it. The paper was heavier than any other I have purchased. I use a lot of this type of gift bag and was happy with them. My only complaint is that the bags get a bit wrinkled from the stacking and packaging. I decorate them with vinyl designs and sometimes the wrinkles get in the way. But I would still purchase them again because the weight is so good.
