JoeJoe:
Very pleased with this underquilt.
I received it and since it was a rainy/snowy colder spring day, I decided to try it immediately. I took it out and lows hit somewhere in the thirties. It was cold enough to flurry so that tells you around where it was. I was very warm. I didn't even sleep with a sleeping bag, just a down camping blanket. I wasn't worried about heat either as I was able to stretch out and let some excess heat out. I could have easily taken it down another 10 degrees and been comfy. I'd say the temp rating of 20° f is accurate, and for that temp rating, the price is great.
Like others have said, it is a bit bulky. It comes in a compression sack (thank heavens they got it right and made the webbing go all the way around so it wasn't just sown into the compression sack. Those always rip out. Big win there) it's about the size of a small sleeping bag. It's the quintessential size/warmth/compressibility/price trade off. And for a budget underquilt, I'd say this finds a sweet spot.
Wouldn't hesitate to purchase again!
Happy camping!

Zach:
I have done the manly thing with camping and moved to hammock camping as my preferred way of sleeping outdoors.
However, that left a giant issue. Hammock camping is cold. Unlike a cot, it's harder to stay warm in a hammock. A good sleeping bag helps, but that won't save you.
Incomes this piece of beauty.
It's a bulky piece of equipment. Just about the same size as my hammock set all together so be prepared for that if you like to travel light, but the benefit is massive. 39F outside night, I was toasty warm.
You know that when it's cold outside and you curl up to get warmer but that causes the bottom of the sleeping bag to get cold? Not with this. I was warm. Very warm. I didn't even need my wool blanket around me.
That alone makes this product worth it.

Craig MooreCraig Moore: It seems to he quite warm, however I have yet to get it into an extreme environment. That will come soon enough. I do however wish it had a more customizable as there is no drawstrings to make it better fit my particular hammock

Wrong dimensions as shown, however the
sellers customer service resolution is excellent. I would definitely recommend Ayamaya.

PitekPitek:
I bought this Ayamaya Underquilt on Amazon.com.
I have been searching and researching the Net for a few months for an underquilt that will satisfy my needs: not too expensive, very light, warm and easily compressed - not necessarily in that order.
Before I used a thin, light and inflatable Klymit Static V pad inside the hammock. That was a real pain the butt - literally. The pad would not stay in one place. Every single time I woke up in the middle of the night the pad was on the side and my back and butt were cold. This pad was great but only for tent camping.
I tested this underquilt during a sunny day with the outside temperature of -4 C (25 F), no snow on the frozen ground. It was easy to set the Ayamaya underquilt up like a cocoon. I crawled up into my hammock's bottom entry and then easily slid the Ayamaya underquilt under my legs.
It took me a couple of attempts to fold and put the Ayamaya underquilt into its bag due to its irregular shape. However, I really like its bag because it is not like a regular tent sleeping-bag bag. It is a true compression bag with the straps. It does its job by making it as small as possible without...

Angie P.: I had to come back and edit this review, after looking at some of the others. PLEASE NOTE: Many of the folks who are giving this a one-star review seem to have tried using this as a HAMMOCK!! Then they are surprised when they end up on the ground, or it that it won't support 2 people. (OMG! It's shock cord -- so many things wrong with that scenario -- it stretches AND it is not designed to hold weight. I felt so sorry for your poor behinds!) If you already know this about this product, you can skip to the review part.
THIS IS NOT A HAMMOCK! It is a blanket you use to keep warm, and it hangs under your hammock. It is much cheaper than every cottage industry and big box store option out there, making it ideal if you just want to try things out or don’t need to worry about weight or bulk. There is a bit of a learning curve (and no one should try to sleep outdoors in gear they're using for the first time unless you have a nice, cozy car to crash in when it all goes wrong!) You are always going to learn more using your gear in the field, but how much newness you will have to tolerate can put you quickly outside your comfort zone and possibly compromise your...
