Daniel: I really appreciate this book. The recipes are easy to follow, and consistently come out delicious. It brings me a nostalgic feeling of helping my Nana in the kitchen when I was younger.

Val: As a Latin person, I find the recipes in this book as traditional recipes passed down. The book is full of great information and easy to follow. This would make a great gift for a new bride. Thank you!

Cliente Amazon: I have been looking forward to this book for a while so when availability in Italy became possible, I bought it immediately and I’m glad I did. As a homesick Texan, I miss the food I grew up eating. My grandmothers and Aunts were always in the kitchen and looking at these recipes brings me back to my childhood. I have tried a few of Mely Martinez’s recipes from her blog and they are delicious and authentic. I just received it today and have already recommended it to a friend!

DeeDiDee: Having longed for a Mexican cookbook that was based around home cooking as well as one that featured easy-to-find, affordable ingredients, The Mexican Home Kitchen fills an important niche in my cookbook collection. The book begins with a handy primer on Mexican ingredients before moving on to explain needed tools and equipment. After that is a handy guide to roasting the most commonly called for vegetables in the following recipes, as well as recipes for flour and corn tortillas. After this introductory material, the book is divided into the following chapters: soups, main dishes, salsas and sides, and desserts and drinks.
The majority of ingredients called for in these recipes can easily be found at your local big box grocery chain. Flipping through the recipes really doesn't turn up many hard-to-find ingredients. Some of you may not be able to locate certain kinds of peppers (arbol or guajillo come to mind) or maybe even some types of Mexican cheeses (like panela or oaxaca), but if you read the primer at the beginning of the book on Mexican ingredients, the author has already thoughtfully listed substitutes for you which make these recipes easy to shop for. miche callaghan: I just recieved my copy of The Mexican home kitchen and I am absolutely thrilled!
I have already cooked many recipes from the Mexico in my Kitchen website and they have become my go to recipes. The book is beautiful, the recipes ready to follow, the photographs are beautiful and the book itself looks so lovely on my coffee table. Thank you so much!

MOP: As a Mexican person living abroad (UK) I am always in the look for a book with good recipes and in English so the appropriate translations are included in the recipes plus a good selection of REAL Mexican recipes. Mexicans really dislike that our food is often mistaken by the American twist of it called “Tex Mex”. It is not the same. This book is the best I have found so far and I applaud the great efforts and dedication that has come into it. Highly recommended.

Nope: The recipes are great looking with photos of the food. My husband loves chili colorado & i have a vita mix blender. So i was able to make his favorite mexican meal. This looks like all the foods served at the taco food trucks and a whole lot more. (No chili colorado recipe however).
