Attwood Tsunami T500 Bilge Pump - 4606-7 Model for Boating and Marine Use

Don: This was cheaper than buying the replacement cartridge locally. Was a perfect fit, replacing cartridge on my pontoon livewell pump. Snaps into place, change those over and two wiring connections, nothing to it.

Bud O.: The unit is quiet and moves water well, but the most endearing feature for me; a quick click and twist to remove the motor from the base. This may not seem like a big deal, but in my boat, the bilge area is VERY tight to get into, and I needed to replace the bilge pump. As this T500 unit was in my new boat, I could simply twist the motor out and replace it into the pre-mounted base (connect wires as well). If I had to fully/traditionally replace that unit, I would had to removed gas lines, gas vent hoses and maybe a piece of the floor: it was a huge time saver. BTW, the replacement motor on Amazon is 10 dollars more than buying the entire kit....the motor is the same, save the money

day_tripper: The Attwood V450 I installed in my boat 28 years ago finally snapped a retainer that held it in place to its mount, and after digging through the multitude of options I bought this Attwood 4606-7. Installed easily with 3 #8 SS pan head wood screws and as best as I could test it works well.

Did need to upgrade the fuse from 2A to 3A as this pump draws more power than the old one, something to be aware of.

MikeMike: put 2 pumps (1x tsunami for daily base & 1x 3700gph in case of troubles) with some stainless floaters and home automation system to watch and flush my french drain. Those 12V bilge pumps are connected to 12V DC batteries, always running in case of outage. Works like a charm since years.

Update 2021: I had some concerns: the speed was lower than usual for days. I thought the pump was almost dead with no significant flow. The pump ran for HOURS without removing the water. Disassembled the pump, wash it a little and ran it in soapy water: the flow was excellent. The outer tube was filled with debris and stopped the flow. Reassembled the pump: works perfectly. It's really worth the purchase!

Steve: So I purchased this to build a portable camp shower that runs off of my car battery. The pump was much smaller than I was expecting but for the price I can't really complain. I read in the manual that the max head was 9 ft. and that at 6.7 ft. it should pump at a rate of 260 GPH. The shower frame I built was almost exactly 6.7 ft. tall, but when the pump was at ground level, it was not powerful enough and the water level stopped in the hose about 6 inches shy of the top. I was a little disappointed but I simply put the bucket with the pump in it on top of a cooler (raised it about a foot or so) and it worked fine. I gave it 4 stars since it did not meet the manufacturer specifications, but overall it seems like a decent pump and for the price it's hard to beat. I will update this after my first camping trip to report on its reliability.
