D. Stairs: I’m no expert like some of the reviewers but this makes very good strong iced tea. It is new to me so I was surprised by the fineness, not quite like the dust that is Lipton.I think the increased surface area accounts for its excellent strength.

Frances:
I bought this for the sole purpose of brewing milk tea. Just 1 tsp of tea, 6-8oz of water, a little sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk makes a perfectly smooth cup of milk tea.
Please be aware before ordering that this is CTC (crush tear curl) tea which you can say is pretty granulated, similar looking in texture to instant coffee. Any low reviews complaining about the tea being like dust, finely ground, etc. should read a little closer before purchasing. This is clearly labeled as CTC loose leaf tea. This tea makes a strong cup, a little goes a long way, if you know how to brew it then it shouldn't turn out absurdly bitter. Assam tea is a strong and bold black tea, perfect for milk tea, masala chai, or straight up.

Joseph M.: After having tried other brands which were more expensive I am glad to have purchased this assam tea and have no regrets with its flavour. There is a tea aroma often missing in other blends. I brewed this tea and left it for some time without bitterness. Makes a fine iced tea if you brew it strong and dilute it with ice and lemon. Stands up to the competition...Brodies, Bewleys,Barrys,Liptons,Twinnings and others....I have tried many.

Rouslan:
Surprisingly ok tea for the money, 1 kg.
Not a best, but not a worst, not bitter and doesn’t have any over fermented or mold flavors.
For the value, you can’t go wrong, that’s a lot of tea for $23.

I’m a big fan of Assam and have been eyeing this one for a while. I was hesitant about the CTC tea but based on the reviews and the fact that you get two pounds of tea for slightly more then I usually pay for one pound, I gave it a go. Overall, I’d say this is a good but unspectacular tea that nonetheless is reliable and does certain things very well.
This is my first non teabag CTC tea and it took a few tries to figure out how to brew it optimally. If you are used to orthodox loose leaf tea, you will probably find yourself using less leaf and steeping for less time. I do think it is higher quality tea than what you usually find in teabags, but not as much so as with orthodox Assam. It brews quickly and makes a dark, red, powerful cup of tea. It’s aroma is recognizably Assam with malt and a faint ghost of fruitiness. The aroma pales compared to most orthodox Assams but it is pleasant.
On the palate, the tea is strong and flavorful, though less malty than I expected. The flavor is perfectly fine, if rather one note. If brewed carefully, it is tasty enough to drink straight, though quite plain. It is better with milk, a classic Assam milk tea...

Baiger: This is surprisingly good for its price. I've had Assam Banaspaty but I like this one better. It's particularly friendly to my forgetful household -- the tea doesn't get bitter when we brew it for too long. Its bold flavour pairs really well with cream and sugar if that's your preferred way of tea drinking.

SDHSDH:
When I first learned about CTC, or the cut-tear-curl method of processing tea, it sounded downright destructive. "CTC must produce an inferior grade of tea," I thought. This Tea India purchase proved me wrong. Not only is this a big package of tea, which can easily supply one person for 10 months or more, but it tastes great and is sold at a bargain price.
I've been buying large amounts of exotic teas from overseas for a decade or more, so I consider my tea standards to be rather high. I am very pleasantly surprised by this tea. I'm glad I have the 2 pounds (and dwindling) of it in a jar in my cabinet, available whenever I need some nice, fast, tasty black tea. Despite the fine, almost powdery texture, I think it will retain its flavor for a year or more.
"Fast" is certainly applicable to this tea and is one of its virtues. The fine granularity of leaf produced by CTC makes it possible to have a rich, dark cup of black tea after steeping for a mere minute or two. Don't use too much tea (it's concentrated) or steep it much longer than 2-3 minutes, or it may get too strong and bitter. Nonetheless, these features make for convenient brewing--Just steep...

Gently Feral: I don't really know of Assam tea could be called "fancy," but this tea has just the deep flavor that I love in black tea, and just a little bit of a bite. I drink it all day long with plenty of milk and sugar. 2 lbs should last me about 4 months. Thrifty and delicious.
