JJK: This is the third time I've purchased this 100% cotton watercolor paper. I don't like the block, so always buy the sheet. I wouldn't invest in this as a beginning artist or watercolor painter. But if you're serious about your art and plan to exhibit or frame, this would be my choice. This is 140 lb, which is standard & perfect for my use. there is heavier weight available as well. This paper doesn't buckle,; paint can be listed off. .

J H: I’m fairly new to watercolor art, so I’m currently comparing different papers to see what brand to use going forward.
Compared to Windsor Newton, the Arches has quite a bit less texture. This could be good or bad depending on whether or not you like texture. I actually really like texture in most cases, so I prefer Windsor on this detail.
As far as absorbency, Arches absorbs quite a bit faster. This is great if you are like me and hate waiting a long time in between layers! If you do like wet on wet, however, keep this in mind when you dampen you paper.
I tape my edges down, so both brands get the job done when it comes to drying pretty flat.

Man: La uso con grande soddisfazione per stampe inkjet: incredibili i neri profondi e i colori da "acquerello". Per chi cerca una carta veramente "fine art" (stampo da dieci anni e con tutte carte possibili) da prendere al volo. Consigliata!
