Sean Newton: They're not that sturdy, but marshmallows are pretty light. They are probably ok for hot dogs if you don't extend them out all the way. I wouldn't trust them not to bend under the weight of a hot dog at full extension.

Joanna Hutson: So the sticks are two different sizes. I did not realize this. The solid color ones are sturdy and very long. The beige ones with the color at the top are shorter and feel flimsier. Both work for the purpose intended. I did have one of the solid color break- not sure how- my sister was walking them and it broke for her. I haven’t had issues when I wash them. Love that they come with a pouch to store them- although they are a tight fit in there.
