Scott Avignon: I've had the hyacinth model, 4 of them, over a year. I pit a bead of clear outdoors silicone around each mini solar panel, just in case. I ordered these 'blue' hummingbirds because I could get a couple for $45 vs $35 ea.
They just arrived, packed very, very well had veen the case with others.
I was very glad to find them not blue, but, as I suspected from pics, a patinated copper blue/green. What was really cool is that their base coat is a very real, new penny copper color which at first I thought real copper - that good. I flipped the little switch and nothing, until I remembered and placed my hand over the solar square. They both flicker both naturally and realistically bright out of the box.
The lamps have some heff to them, steel and actual glass do that and the instructions, unlike most Chinese 'attempts', are very clear and I suspect are penned by the Doggydoggle people - they seem to really care.
Wife confiscated one after I set it on monolithic coffee table atop the short stack of never read books in order to show her the one in hand. She loved where I set the other and.... One less for thd garden.
The hyacinth styled ones are still burning brightly my each...

M. Mott: My two minor complaints. First, the product had clumps of wax on the inside. Of the six lamps in my order, I had to open up three of them to remove the wax as it looked awful. Second, the batteries were not good in my units. After a few weeks of use, one lantern would not stay lit for more than 30 minutes. The others lasted 2-4 hours. I replaced all six batteries and now they stay lit for more than 8 hours. But for these things, my review would be five stars.

The lanterns are heavy and well made. They are attractive during the day and their flickering lights are warm and welcoming at night. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Constance Rogers: We've purchased and returned a number of solar lanterns for use as pathway highlights. In all cases, the returned items just did not stay lit very long despite full charging of batteries. These lanterns seem to be well designed with a solar panel that is well matched to the battery it charges. As a result, these lamps stay lit all night. They will NOT light your pathway but are a good looking accent light. That said, they are much brighter than other single lamp, flickering LED lanterns we have seen. We purchased 18 lamps and only one arrived with broken glass panes which are easily replaced. These lanterns are powered by 300 mah batteries. As a test, we changed one lanterns battery to a 600 mah and placed it beside another lamp with a 300 mah battery. Both burned all night and were as bright at 6 am as they were at 7 pm the night before. We're really pleased with these lamps, even having to replace some glass in one! Best value we found for style, metal and glass construction, and most importantly, functionality.
