Anthony Ray Hinton and Lara Love Hardin: A Story of Courage and Resilience

Keli: I worked on the prosecution side of the federal government for nearly 15 years. I had a bent toward “of course they all say they’re innocent.” Ray’s experience - and other things I’ve seen since leaving the prosecution side - have opened my eyes to injustices that happen all the time in criminal law. Our “criminal justice” system is flawed at every level. From counties and states all the way up to the federal level, our system of “justice” needs to be reviewed, looked at with honest eyes, and de-politicized.
Human lives are at stake. God bless this man.

alice Litaba: I can’t recommend highly enough. This book is literally life changing! Essentially an autobiographical account of a miscarriage of justice. The author spent 30 years on death row for a crime he did not commit. He is not bitter and writes with humanity. He and this book are inspirational.

Andrea Rudolph: What a man, what a person! A must read for all especially for those who believe in the death penalty and those who believe the judicial system is fair and unbiased. We all need to take a look inside ourselves and determine if we are willing to fight for justice or not. This book can assist in making that decision.

MMB: This book was hard to put down. The horrifying idea of being so outrageously railroaded should be unimaginable. I figured I was in for a very depressing read. But Anthony Ray Hinton first grabbed my attention, surprised me with his attitude, and inspired me in a life-changing way. Everyone should read this book!
Last, SHAME ON THE STATE OF ALABAMA! He couldn't earn a retirement because of your deceit and taking his best years. He has nothing to live on because of you, and you haven't given him compensation for your error nor an apology. Shame, shame on you!

Joanna Dubois: If Ray"s story had been fiction no one would have believed the USA"s "justice " system could be so corrupt but Ray's story alas is true. The book is well written and Ray , in spite of the unbelievable hardships he went through, managed to put humour in his account. It is a book that uplifts the soul, inspires compassion and ultimately it's the kind of work that will change the system.
Ray's story, alas, is not unique. Another innocent black man, Roger Mc Gowen, has been incarcerated for more than 20 years in anothet USA grim prison. His story, written with Swiss writer Pierre Pradervand, under the title: "Messages of life from death row" is equally inspiring.
