I’ve had I’d for a while and all is working good.

NZ: Easy to install, touch screen worked great, sound quality is awesome , handsfree phone call works great but somehow Bluetooth does not work. The button is there but it does nothing when I click on it. Since I already soldered all the wires, I opted to keep it and just use the USB cable. I would recommend it if you don't mind not using the bluetooth feature on it. It's just sad that I paid for that option and I can't use it

walknd: Having never installed a car stereo before, the iLX-W650 was very easy to do. (The hardest part is getting your dash apart.) Make sure you get the right wiring harness for you vehicle and wire it up. It took me about 20 minutes. Be sure to get some good wire connectors. I used Posi-Twist connectors and they feel very secure.
My only issue is with the parking brake lockout. It seems like all manufacturers do this, so I don't know if this is some kind of government mandated thing or what, but it's very annoying. If you want to get into Android Auto or Carplay, bluetooth, or even the basic settings, you have to splice a wire into your parking brake. I get it, safety first, but you can't even set the clock without doing this. Again, I don't know if this is an Alpine thing or a law or what, but I found the whole process of trying to hook into my parking brake wire very frustrating.
All in all though, it's a very good unit.

Stuart McBrearty: The unit struggles with the Bluetooth and connecting to its 1 and only usb is hit or miss for the car play… my last unit was a Pioneer NEX500 that I got 10 years ago and it was better than this… it should be priced more in the low 100s not the 500s
