Benjamin & Ana Laura Paasch: I used this book when I was a kid and now I’m using the series to teach my children. I recommend Alfred’s books for learning the piano.

Karla Orea: Es una libro que presenta los contenidos de forma progresiva, pero también en círculos concéntricos. Muy fácil de entender.

Ralph Guumba: My daughter is exploding with the step-by-step approach of Alfred's instruction books. The graphics are fun for a 1st grader. The concepts are well thought-out. The lessons allow for gradual, yet excellent progression in learning music theory and piano skills.

Socrates: A fantastic and must have book for anyone learning to play the piano! My son has been learning to play for a couple of years and his teacher only uses these books. They really are worth their weight in gold! It's not cheap paying for piano lessons, do yourself a favour and pick a teacher that only uses these books!

Melissa Briseno: As a music instructor, I have been using this series of Alfred's books with my piano students and they all progress very well from one book to the next. I have students that are close to completing the previous books (level 1B) so I purchase the next level to prepare for when they are ready to move on to the next level. The students enjoy the bright, colorful, and sometimes humorous illustrations and everything is explained very well. Highly recommend this book (and series) to other instructors and/or those looking for self-teaching.

minnemom: I have been teaching private piano lessons for 15 years and I am delighted with the Alfred series. This book specifically has quite a few songs that the kids will recognize. It starts by introducing the dotted quarter not, which is often difficult for students. It ends with great coverage of the primary chords, I, IV, V7. I love the approach Alfred takes to introducing those chords, then using them so much for the accompaniment. At first the kids are always very confused by it, but by the end of the book, they recognize them easily in all their pieces and can name them without any trouble. Be aware that some of the supplements in the series are substantially harder than the corresponding lesson book.

Lydia Jn Baptiste: This book is required for my daughter's music lessons. It was recommended by her tutor, so he must have found value in it. I don't have an opinion on it yet.
