Sneekypete: It holds alot of food, so not having to go to another area to refill the food container every other day or so. It seals up nicely if the lid is screwed on properly. It is easy to fill without missing the container or having to scoop the food into it. It is easy to access the food with the wide opening. We have two med/lg dogs and this has improved our routine alot!

Preston N. Kutz: After a month of use these containers are the best I've come across. Having a sleed team worth of Huskies I need to ensure I have enough food on hand to keep them feed. So I bought 2 40lb containers for that purpose.
For those saying that it doesn't hold 40lbs of dog food you are more then likely not filling it properly. More then likely you are filling it the same way it will sit on the floor, in that case yes you won't fit a 40lb bag in it. In order to fill it properly you must put it on its back end, and as the food reaches the opening, stop filling and tilt container back to move the food to "bottom" of container. From there you can fill it the remaining the way repeating the tilt as needed till the bag is emptied into container. The other thing to consider is to think of the size of kibble and the shape of your dog food going into the container. If the dog food is on the larger size and/or of an odd shape then more then likely won't fit a 40lb bag into the container as there will be voids of space between the odd shapes of each piece of food. These are all things to consider when buying. Best to go with the container that holds more then the weight of your dogs food if...

L F C: I have purchased this product in the past and still use it. I ordered this one as a gift for a friend. This seems to have had more insight as the opening is at the top of the container, instead of on the side. This design allows for more food to be put in the container.
However, the container is not able to hold 40lbs of dog food. There is no possible way I could get the whole 40lb package of dog food in the container. Please note, this is NOT due to the amazon Seller having done anything wrong. The issue is the Container's Manufacturer not listing the true capability for the storage of a 40lb package of dog food. Hmmm, maybe they mean 40lbs of dog food what was mashed to dust. As that is the only way I can think of making their 40lb container statement.
Again, this is not due to anything the Seller did. This is an issue due to the Manufacturer's wording....
I would still buy and recommend this product.

Goodnessyes: We store our dog food in a lower kitchen cabinet and this is PERFECT. No longer do we have to worry about a lid falling on our hand and knocking out some of the scoopful of food onto the floor. This makes every day simpler, and it’s such good quality I could see it lasting for the rest of our lives. I read some reviews about it being difficult to close and I haven’t had any issues.
We bought the 60 lb Vault even though we buy the 45 lb bags of food. There is plenty of room left but I didn’t want to have to worry about it spilling out or I wanted to be able to add in a different kind of food/have room to mix the old kind in if I wanted.
Plus, even though it’s big, it fits perfectly under our standard 36” kitchen cabinets that have a drawer on top and a door that opens on the bottom.
(Yes, we had to remove the cabinet shelves. One cabinet side holds the Vault and on the other side/door next to it we installed the Rev-A-Shelf pull out trash cans).
