Doc: I have neurological issues and this does a great job keeping my ankle secure. Only issue is that the Velcro is so tough that I actually need assistance getting it off if I put the Velcro on correctly!

Not Surprised: I have now purchased 5 of these Aircast A60 Ankle supports in the last 6 years. I'm can get as many as two years of daily use from one before it needs to be replaced, sometimes more. I just recently purchased the fifth brace, so I'm averaging 1 1/2 years per brace. For me, they are thin enough that I can wear them with any shoe or boot that I have with no problem. I have never had to consider a different shoe size in order to accommodate the brace. I'm a male, so I can't attest to how they fit under woman's shoes. The A60 isn't solid like a cast, it's flexible enough that your foot can move normally, but gives enough support that I don't twist my ankle due to my torn ligaments. As with most things of this type, it takes a little time to get used to wearing it. There was some minor irritation at first, but I long ago became accustomed to it and now I usually don't even remember I'm wearing it. Prior to finding the Aircast A60, I would twist my ankle on a regular basis. Since using the A60, I have not twisted my ankle even once. There have been many occasions where I would have suffered a painful twist but was totally saved by the brace. My issues with my ankle are my own, yours may...

Jon: Underneath the white colored fabric is really strong plastic or metal obviously for support. But watch out if you have and plates or screws in ur foot bc it rubs and digs into any unusable lumps or bumps from hardware.

Chuck Norris' Third Fist: I wanted something to help with my recovery from an ankle fracture as I stopped using the walking boot and sought the confidence to get back to my normal way of walking without grave concerns about injuring myself again.
A review on another ankle brace/stirrup recommended this one instead as it was said to greatly reduce the likelihood of you rolling your ankle so I gave it a shot. The recommended medium size for my shoe size was a good fit for me. It fits quite snugly without rubbing or making me worried I'll form blisters and I can take steps almost normally without worrying that my ankle will collapse or roll under my leg again.
The brace is small enough for me to get into shoes, trainers and boots about walk about wearing them.
EDIT: Since my recovery has progressed enough for me to start putting impacts against my ankle again, I've been able to start running and going to the gym with the brace and work on strength training. The brace has been brilliant in helping me on the road to full fitness whether I'm weight machine training, step jumping or using the cross trainer.
Being able to pitch and yaw my foot without being able to roll it is exactly the...

Zipp: I am 70 years old and have serious back issues that cause me to have limited walking mobility. Walking is not fun. Recently I was fitted with orthotic leg braces that help significantly with this. I had hoped they would also help me with biking too as I ride my mountain bike regularly, around 30 miles per week but unfortunately, with their flat piece design along the bottom, the orthotic braces made biking very difficult, instead of better.
I did some further investigation and discovered these a few months ago; The Aircast A60 Ankle Support Brace. I bought two and quickly realized they were perfect for biking and improved my riding dramatically. My ankles never try to “roll” outward and I am much sure footed.
I also use these for yardwork including cleaning rain gutters on a ladder. I highly recommend the Aircast A60 Ankle Support Brace, and will buy them again as they wear out. Be patient as you become familiar with these. No disappointments. The only downside for me was having to buy a left and a right brace from two separate venders.
