Steve Weinberg: I'm in England, using this adapter now. It's very sturdy and well-made; the plug pins are solidly attached to the body, and having three US sockets makes it versatile when using multiple devices at once. The built-in USB C and USB A charger works fine, although it doesn't support the latest USB-C PD/PPS standard. I wouldn't expect that out of a $10 gadget, so I plug my Anker USB charger into this adapter.

It's crucial to understand that the AC sockets do NOT convert 240 V to 120 V. They simply change the shape of the sockets to allow plugging in US-style plugs. Whatever you plug in must accept both voltages, or you'll see magic smoke escaping, and destroy the device plugged in.

Just a random guy: The unit I purchased was the Type-G or UK version. I traveled to London and stayed in a hotel. Some hotels, (including the one i stayed) have cleverly installed USB charging ports for their guests' convenience - reducing the need to pack a charger.

While that is nice to have USB plugs available, a lot people don't realize a few issues:
1) Public or High-Traffic USB ports often get worn out. Worn ports often make poor connections which will affect your charging.
2) Modern USB phones and devices, especially hungry ones, require higher voltage and currents (e.g. Qualcomm QuickCharge, OnePlus SuperVooC/DashCharge, etc) than what's provided by public/semi-public fixtures. Hence, you will experience slower charging.
3) You may not have any USB sockets at all!
