Amazon Customer: It's based on a play conducted by two and narrated by another the play summaries to conducting a play like never before and bringing together all the works of Shakespeare into one theater sitting it doesn't have all the Shakespeare's language but is good to summarise all its play so that if you wish to pursue the original book of all his plays...word by word you can understand what it's gonna end up on 😊

Austin Roberts: I highly recommend this play. It's hard to say whether the revised version is better than the original, but they're both a little dated now, anyway. I might recommend the original script over this one, but they're both very good.

Ardella C.Ardella C.: My daughter asked for it as a gift and it was perfect. Beautiful binding gold on pages and pictures. Reasonably priced and everything she was looking for from his collection of works. Thanks so much

Jambotodd: I bought this because I was in a production of it with my local theatre group. It was hilarious, went down a storm. The material is brilliant, irreverent without being offensive to The Bard.

C. Jones: Brilliant. Performed in this. Use this updated version rather than the older version that's still available. Just sublime. Audience doesn't have to know much, if any, Shakespeare to enjoy it. Standing ovations and hugely positive comments - if you follow the script, you can't go wrong. Three guys do all the plays and parts in the complete works. Some minor ad-libbing required and some audience interaction and direct participation. Some audiences more difficult to convince to come up on stage than others, but the most they have to do is run back and forth stage left to right, or scream on cue. Couldn't recommend this script highly enough.

Martine Lacoursiere: true to the DVD! absolutely hillarious! these guys know how to write skits! even if you don't know or like Shakespeare, it's funny! imagine when you like his work!!!

Eric: This is one of the most clever, zany, and madcap things ever written for the stage. It's not only fun to watch, it's just as enjoyable to read. There are guaranteed laugh-out-loud moments, for both fans of the bard and those who struggled to understand him in high school English classes. If you're not a fan of Shakespeare, there are definitely jokes and references you will miss, but there's enough ingenious, slapstick humor to appeal to readers with a variety of feelings about Shakespeare.

Beatrice marie: I am a high school drama teacher, and we bought copies of the Compleat Works of William Shakespeare Abridged for classroom use. They have been delightful to use, and perfectly correllating with the Reduced Shakespeare Company DVD that we have enjoyed in the past. The best part of all is how the kids retain the recognition of lines and scenes, even when we are viewing or reading other versions of his works. They love getting in front of the class and working up these zany parodies of the classics. I rate it 5 out of 5!!

fra7299: “All the world’s a stage…” – William Shakespeare, pretty famous playwright/poet
“Brevity is the soul of wit.” – Polonius, Hamlet, Act 2, Scene 2
“What the hell is going on out here?” – Vince Lombardi, legendary NFL coach
This is a book that needs no introduction (incidentally, it doesn’t have one, even if it did).
Let’s face it: life is short. And, being that is so, many of us busy people do not have the time to read the complete works of the genius of Shakespeare in our lifetimes. So, why not knock it all out in one book?
I remember this being all the rage years ago (I guess maybe more in literary circles). I even had a VHS tape copy of The Reduced Shakespeare Company’s production of Shakespeare’s works back in the day. I recently happened to stumble upon this book, which I had purchased years ago.
So, reading the play and watching it performed on stage can be two different experiences entirely. This trio of actors uses quite a bit of physical comedy and interaction with the audience, so sometimes this might not translate as well in print form. Luckily, I found a video of this online, so I was watching some...
