Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder by Active Wow

LG: I purchased this item because the whitening teeth powder I usually get was not available. It does a good job whitening my teeth, but black powder is all over my bathroom sink. it also makes black stains that have to be physically rubbed to remove. I just got my bathrooms redone, so I am very fussy about their appearance. Whether I buy this product again depends on how white my teeth get versus the extra work.

Shani: I love this product!! Other whiteners I have used have left my teeth very sensitive and my gums irritated, but after reading so many positive reviews I decided to try this product and I’m so glad I did! No sensitivity or irritated gums! Just whiter teeth! I have a few crowns and I know a whitening product will not whiten them but this powder did remove stains on my crowns that I didn’t realize were stained. I ordered the spearmint but it does not have a minty taste, there is no taste to it at all. I wish it were a little minty. I feel I need to brush with regular toothpaste or use mouthwash after just to have that fresh breath taste and feel. PS…you will have black teeth, gums and tongue after use….be sure to rinse well.

SeanT: Good:

This stuff is really soft and powdery.
Also, is tastelessly so no problems there.
It leaves your mouth "feeling" cleaner, so inadvertently I guess whiter. Not bad in this instance.

Bad:

Messy as all hell. You have a guaranteed cleanup job when you start to use this stuff. It DOES cleanup relatively easy but if you're not ready, you have to spend time cleaning it up.

My TIPS:

-Mix it with some white baking soda or powder (at least 50/50). It will then turn it gray and messiness won't be so much.
-Also, use a small scooper and mix it into a small cup with some mouthwash.
-When you get ready to spit it out, don't 'splash' into the sink. Just spit it out slowly.

The above makes so a LOT less cleanup AND gets your intended job done with some further enhancements.

amber: I’ve been using charcoal tooth products for some time now, and have been learning what I prefer when it comes to them!
Powders are messy. MESSY! You don’t have any idea how much of a mess brushing your teeth really makes until all of the tiny splatters are stark black droplets everywhere on your wall, mirror and vanity! (Seems like a good lesson for our current times...😳) Despite this mess, I definitely find a powder like this active wow powder a more effective product than any paste charcoal I’ve tried. This is a small tub of product, but it only takes a dab to get every tooth fresh, shiny and white! This Active Wow powder actually seems a richer, denser black than my previous charcoal tooth powder which, combined with the fact that the Active Wow also has coconut in the formula, definitely makes it a better choice than most of the other powders that I’ve tried! The mint flavor is also nice, if subtle. I haven’t had a flavored powder before and while I’ve never missed the flavor (I prefer to use a small dab of my usual flavored, fluoride paste under the charcoal powder) it does make it a more refreshing experience when I decide to forgo any paste.

Sheri Miller: I have tried a few charcoal toothpastes and really enjoyed them... so I came across this product. I thought it looked really unique and different because it was powder instead of toothpaste or mouthwash. Bought it on a whim to test it out and wanted to know how it compared to charcoal toothpastes and the instructions for use.

I waited a while before I reviewed because I wanted to compare my teeth over a two week period... I noticed that gradually my teeth had an improved shine and got a bit whiter. As for the flavor of the toothpaste I couldn't really taste the spearmint. Maybe it was just very faint or I'm used to stronger toothpastes.

Overall it is a nice product. I used every other day and had good results with it. Although I use an electric toothbrush for regular cleaning, I bought a regular cheap toothbrush to use this powder with and that seems to do the trick. Just don't be frightened by yourself in the mirror when you spread the wet powder on... black teeth... lol
