frankl5150: These gloves are perfect for my 6 year old to use for bike riding and playing. They probably would fit ages 4-8 fairly well.
They have good grip and are fairly warm. My son can use them in the winter on the playground and still do the monkey bars. They also have enough grip for cold weather football. They are mostly windproof, so work good for bike riding.
The palm of the glove is rubber coated with small grip dots. The back of the glove is a soft shell material that appears windproof and fairly warm. the sides of the fingers and back of the thumb are fleece, and the inside feels quite soft. I think wind could get through the fleece, but these seem pretty warm.
UPDATE 12/9/2019
Took off 1 star because the velcro really didn't grip well. It only lasted a couple of weeks. I just cut off the velcro straps and the gloves still work fine. They have been holding up really well otherwise.
