DaritanX: This ending made up for the weird typos and wild Hermits appearing in the series lately! Amped up .for the next book!

Amazon Customer: You can tell t that you are invested in a book when one of of the characters come to their end and you go noooooo, not him.

F L Dikko: Having been scared to open this book for fear of being disappointed, I absolutely sped through it once I started reading. I was just captured by the story coming together all around the world of Buryoku. The challenges Roy faces are making my heart pound. Definitely recommend the whole series.

Tom: Another decent entry in the series that keeps the plot moving and adding just enough lore and history of the world to keep you wanting more without being bored by large info dumps.

Kindle Customer: Easily my fav of all the series . I have to admit though that I prefer a single fast moving story line rather than the dual or even triple storylines being woven here . I don't want to make this review too long as that will keep the author away from writing my next instalment!

Kindle Customer: The world building and cultivation system are excellent. While it is based of f of xianxia systems the author has managed to create something unique.

I’m taking a star away simply because the Mc is not maturing at all. In my eyes he is shifting from a character one can admire despite his faults to a character I’m starting to despise. The author needs to have the mc grow up a little. As it stands I’m. Not sure how much longer I can follow the mc’s story with his pathetic emotional maturity

Voracious reader: Ok so some house cleaning. In the section where Hermit is with Tonde Kareru and the blocker seal , instead of the part where Hermit should be quoted Tonde is in both sections, so it sounds like he’s talking to himself.

Ok now that’s out the way I really enjoyed this book. I’m just bummed out that I have to wait until March lol. I just started reading these books a week ago and tried to hold back or slow down but nope I had to find out what happened next. I guess that’s the risk you take when the series isn’t finished.

I’m glad our hero is still alive I was worried there for a second. Also still dunno who Azure is but I have a guess I’m just not gonna say since the end was such a cliffhanger. Also new evil arises and we really haven’t gotten rid of the old one! Ugh

Ok on another note and maybe it’s just me but i now want Roy and Ferry together instead of Aika. She seems to hover too much and whine a bit too much for my liking. Maybe it’s just me lol. (I was secretly hoping that white dot on her collar would take her out haha.) she’s just jealous too much in my opinion unlike Ferry that just wants the best for Roy and is proud of him, and...

Dr Siddhartha Goswami: This series keeps getting better and better. I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds in the next book

Sheathd427: Darkness was easily my favorite of the Buryoku books, and though the cliffhanger was cruel, it was an absolute high note of the series. Weakness is … less so.

The parts of Darkness I enjoyed best were present, but the execution was faltering. Typos were abundant, and though I’m usually willing to overlook them, they were significantly detrimental to the reading experience in this case. In multiple instances, I had to reread a paragraph several times to determine the intention, and at least twice, the wrong character name was used, with confusing results.

The story Oster is telling is enjoyable, and there is clearly much more to come, but the book would have benefitted greatly from some time to breathe, and a few more passes from a skilled editor. This is a fun series, and I would love to see it grasp the potential that is clearly present.

kevin lauderbaugh: I really enjoyed this book. It helped to bring together the main arc and have good insight into the lore of the world. There is a little bit of mystery being developed and I love it.
The only criticism I have is the Roy and Aita relationship. I love the relationship and really hope to see it develop into more of an actual relationship. There is a lot of potential there that I think can really make Roy’s character stronger. One of his biggest trials is his constant self doubt, It would be good to see their relationship build and develop so that we can see a little more of what is driving Roy to all these accomplishments. I highly recommend this book.
