Elliot CoyElliot Coy:
The author presents physics in a very approachable and hilarious way. He relates complicated physics principles to every day life from a dog's perspective.
Most literature I've read on Quantum Physics leaves me with more questions than it answers.
This book is the opposite of that. He answering questions I didn't even know I had.
His humor and satire keep me on my toes and anxious to read more and thus retaining more information.
I haven't read a book like this in years. The last one I remember was Code by Charles Persons.
This is an excellent book...I will probably be getting them for my friends and family it remains this good for the rest of the book!

Volka: Bought it as a present and ended up reading it myself as well. It teaches you concepts of quantum physics in layman's terms.

David Hoffman:
Physicist Chad Orzel talks to his dog. This is not all that unusual. Many pet owners talk to their pets and dogs make particularly good listeners. What might be a little strange is that Professor Orzel talks to his German Sheppard mix Emma about quantum physics. It turns out that dogs have a good intuitive grasp of quantum physics so they are able to have long conversations on quantum physics. In How to Teach Physics to Your Dog, Chad Orzel relates these conversations in which he explains to an eager Emma the basics of quantum physics. Emma interrupts his explanations with just the sort of questions the reader might happen to have. The dog and physicist talk about such topics as the uncertainty principle, virtual particles, quantum tunneling and entanglement.
It's a fun idea and Chad Orzel does a terrific job explaining physics to the lay reader in the guise of talking to his dog. He seems to have a good feel for how a dog acts and thinks, and I have no trouble imagining that if a dog could talk about physics she would be just as excitable, and as easily distracted by squirrels, bunnies, and treats.
The most important chapter in this book must be the last...

"he called it spukhafte Fernwirkung
"Spooky action at a distance?" she translates
"Since when do you know German?"
"Dude, look at me" she turns sideways for a second, showing off her black and tan coloring and pointed nose. "German shepherd, remember?"
So goes the banter between a dog and his owner as they discuss the strange world of quantum physics. This highly readable book will take you into the realms of quantum tunneling, Schrodinger's Wave equations, the quantum zeno effect and other topics of this strange world of the very small.
Chad Orzel writes a very clear, readable book using his dog Emmy to explain the physics of quantum mechanics. The style which he uses his conversations with his dog to set up the explanations is an ingenious method and for those who are not familiar with the subject provides a short glossary; for those who want to read more suggested readings are also given.
What I liked about this book is how Mr. Orzel takes on the tasks of dispelling certain myths about quantum physics in a very nonthreatening manner. Usually it is his dog who has the incorrect interpretation of the concept and upon examples and...

It's Just Me: This book reminds me of Steven Hawking's books. Physics very well explained, with very few equations. Does an excellent job of getting complex concepts across. And this book does it in an amusing way -- a series of tongue-in-cheek conversations in which the author explains quatum physics (quantum mechanics) to his dog. As the author states, in some ways, dogs are better suited than humans to understand quantum mechanics, because they don't come equipped with certain assumptions which people do. Assumptions which may be valid on a macroscale, but not valid on the tiny scale of atomic particles. Highly recommended for anyone with an interest in the topic. It is suitable for people with a wide range of knowledge about physics. Different people will get different things out of it, despending on their current level of understanding of quantum physics and physics in general. Quantum physics is not a simple subject and the book requires thought and attention when read. It is also an entertaining read. Highly recommended. I've already given a copy as a gift and will be giving more.

Amazon Customer: If you have been interested in this subject or you are actively involved in this area of science then , please get a copy of this book , at first it might seem a very casual way to approach a
subject that requires a lot of thought and trying to visualise
the outcome of experiments , especially light particles and how they behave and the way they have influenced our thinking about the results of experiments over the previous years. The relationship between Chad and Emmy his dog keeps it real and helps you , with a little humour , think about the events of the real world .
This book works , and if you think this sort of thing is way out of your understanding, then this should help .
