Paul O.: Sooo... smallest bit was completely defective (literally un-wound), others are ok, but actual counter-sink cutters seem to be one size too big for each bit and don't center well, so they bind up with even mild pressure when drilling. Also, size of the bit doesn't seem to be well matched to size of the countersink cutter, so seems like picking right bit for the job is always a compromise - either smaller than needed or larger.
However, having said all that, these aren't expensive and they do do their job. I don't regret buying them (mostly because I don't need them often, so a bit of extra labor to use 'em doesn't affect me in a big way.

ROB n VICKI: If the bits were sharp these would be a homerun to countersink and drill at the same time.
Unfortunately the bits are a bit dull and have issues going through plywood. Won't even try a hard wood.
They are not expensive at $10.99 so the old statement of - You get what you pay for - holds true.
So I can't say don't buy it and save your money - buy with the mindset of this being a single use disposable accessory and you will not be disappointed.

adam: Easy to use but don’t and cheap, like real cheap in fact too cheap,... I’m saying it’s bad steel, well no steel is bad steel unless it’s compromised but not for this application.
steel was soo soft started drilling in pine 5 quarters thick Decking and within the first 7 counter sunk holes the bit I was using bent not broke mind you, bent almost 90 degrees it heated up only slightly and no longer had the structural integrity to hold up to pine.
I needed cheap drill bits somethings I wouldn’t mind breaking, losing, or giving away at the end of the day and these bits couldn’t last the first 10 minutes avoid, if you have to buy cheap bits then go with a set of cheap black and decker (I dislike btw but cheap) and a stand alone counter sink bit but don’t buy these countersink bits it’s just not worth it

MBA Squared: Most everything I do needs to be caulked and painted, which covers a multitude of sins. But, I recent project involving stained oak was different. Normally, I would just allow my drill to do the countersink for me, but since I was staining and not painting, and I was working with a harder wood, I decided to invest a few dollars into the right tools. It made a huge difference, with the toughness of oak Im not sure I could have gotten the screws to countersink any other way. And, the gap that would have resulted from a protruding screw could not be fixed with caulk and white paint this time.
