I just only would like to have a little more info about how a track affects another when mixing and how to fix it other than that a great book…. Coalheart: My Momma told me that if you don't have anything nice to say, then say nothing at all. Then again, she also told me a lot of other stuff that I also ignore.
I bought the audiobook. I'm not a violent person at all. Matter if fact, I'm a goofy arse, laugh at everything clown, but this guy's voice? Holy hell. It fills me with rage. To me, sounds like a used car or life insurance salesman or maybe a lounge singer. I've never seen the guy's face, but all I can think while hearing him talk is how much his face craves my fist.
The information in the book is solid and I don't want to take any work away from the narrator, but I do find it ironic that the worst thing about this book on audio is...the audio.

Ricky Vienneau: Very good book but its not quite as easy as it says.
You first need a decent knowledge in audio work to understand things he speaks of. For example, he speaks of a static track which i had never heard of.
So in terms i had to reasearch as i was reading on but do buy this book it did give me good insights on how to aproach when creating my tracks for my mixes.

ManfredManfred: Es gibt viele Bücher zum Thema, einige habe ich bereits gelesen, keines kommt an Step By Step Mixing ran. Ich habe gerade mal die Kapitel Equing und Compression durch, mein Buch ist bereits voller Marker und Merker, nach jedem Kapitel setzte ich mich an meine DAW, setze das Gelesene um und habe immer wieder großartige Aha-Erlebnisse.

Von Bjorgvin Benediktsson bzw. seiner Firma Audio Issues gibt es übrigens auch eine Equalizer Extension für die DAW, mit der das Gelesene im Buch bezüglich EQing noch sehr exakt umgesetzt werden kann. Dieser Equalizer ist absolut empfehlenswert, wenn man die fachlich gebräuchlichen Stichworte für die Frequenzbereiche lernen und in die Tiefen der Frequenzmanipulation einsteigen will.

Super Buch, dicke Empfehlung!
