This isn’t at all what I expected. Our 10 year old bulldog walked right over it. He obviously didn’t like the rough “pretend” hard grass under his feet. Now that he’s learned to walk down the steps, we don’t need to have fake grass. The return choices for this item was outrageous! It cost me more to return this item back to the company than it was worth! Be sure to read the fine print before buying from a company! Rip off!!

If I had an older dog this would be great! My two pups did use it, but they also chewed it up! Could be bad if they swallowed the little plastic grass bits? Maybe, I'll pull it out after they are done being pups - for indoor use when not home? I layered two potty pads under grass for easier cleaning and would soak mat and air dry outside when it needed it (about every other day or so).

First days are good, but one of the layers starts to smell with time, plus it's not very practical to clean the grass. Ended up throwing the grass in the trash and using just the tray with absorbent pads.

Love this tray .. put a puppy pad under the grass .. stick the useless black support piece in a closet ...... We use tissue - flush poo ... Can go to HD and get a strip of 'short' artificial grass $9 .. cut into 4 - size needed for this tray - We're using 2 > 2 in storage for later .. We change puppy pad every other day - change grass pad same time > artificial pad goes in tub - clorox lavender for soak - then outside sun ... Hub worries about fleas , so our 1 - 13 pd chihuahua does not go outside to do her business .. this tray during the day , a small one in her night crate ...

Great item and helps to keep thing in one place. We have a 8 month old puppy and no problem using the pad. He has been using it since he was 4 month old. It is easy to clean doesn't look bad on the deck. Would recommend.

BUT it still sits on the back balcony and he scratches his butt with it from time to time.
I can really see this being a great, helpful product for the right owner who has patience. I did not. I gave in immediately and just took him to the promise land - the lawn.
