Toddfrog: These patches seemed to me to be a great way to do a quick repair on screens that I use for the top of mealworm habitats. The main problem is they were intended to be vents, but the entire screen is covered with a sticky material to bond it to the ripped screens. This is absolutely useless as a patch for something that needs air to go through it and looks like garbage on a screen that is on a window. If the edges were sticky and the middle was permeable, then these would be great. I could see their usefulness as a patch to a hole in the sheetrock, or something that was going to be mudded and covered with paint, but not what I was hoping for in this application.

JTV: 12/13/2017 Update: I bought this THREE YEARS AGO. It is still holding up where I patched my screens. I have to face palm at all the negativity. This is only a $4 repair. All screens do not look alike or are made alike. For the price and fact that it’s held up since 2014 on screens in the rainforest with a heck of a lot of humidity, I have to give this product an additional star making it five. Buy a new screen if that’s what you want to do but for minor repairs, this has lasted beyond my expectations.

Great idea. Living part time in Panama, I'm constantly getting small tears in my screen Windows. This is a great way of saving money - not having to replace the screens (which are mandatory with the amount of mosquitos there).
Worked well and easy to use. Depending on the size and location of the damage, this can be really noticeable or barely noticeable. But hey, it does the job well.

ShiftSe7en: This does what it claims to do, but as others have probably commented, the adhesive is not conducive to airflow, and is conducive to attracting dust. Admittedly, I'm not sure how you would redesign this to avoid this.
I think everyone will have different expectations about this product — If your expectation, like mine, is just a stop-gap measure until you can replace the scree, then I think you'll be relatively pleased with the performance. If you think that putting this patch on your torn screen and it will just magically disappear and you won't even be able tell there was ever any damage, then I don't think you'll be very happy with this. Good luck.
Replacing a screen in a door is a relatively simple DIY project. This is a great solution to keep the bugs and no-see-ums out as an interim measure. My screen door is being shredded by my cat — when he wants to come back in the house at 5 in the morning, he thinks climbing the screen is a pretty good doorbell.

RickarenRickaren: These patch kits contain 5 3"X3" adhesive backed screens. I have a SunSetter roll-out awning room on our rear deck with the optional screen kit. Over the last two years three holes appeared. Not sure if human or animals caused these, but these patch kits easily corrected this issue. To install I did use three uncut patches, installing one on the outside of the screen and three uncut patches on the same locations inside the screen. (2 kits required) I unzipped the screen and placed the damaged area(s) on top of of a small glass top table. I trimmed off any damaged loose screen around the area to be repaired. I then removed the backing to expose the adhesive and placed facing up on the table, then placed the damaged screen area directly over the patch keeping it flat. Next just align and place the inside (top) patch over the previously bottom patch. Simple and effective repair.

Keyera: The media could not be loaded. Used this for my screen with holes and it’s perfect! Blends nicely (when applied properly but even if not it glides onto the surface and latches like no other!
