Just wanting stuff that works!: I wasn't so sure about the two flavors of Glaze Pop flavorings in this kit, but I knew from experience that the salt really made my home popped popcorn taste like the movie theatre, overpriced popcorn. WOW, was I wrong! The Sweet Corn makes my popcorn taste as good or better than kettle corn that is always popular at carnivals and craft fairs, really good kettle corn! The Glaze Pop flavoring is just like homemade caramel corn, with the buttery, sweet caramel flavoring that you crave when you smell it at county fairs, and better than anything you're going to get at the theatre. I'll be reordering both flavors - they're different enough to be unique treats for those fun nights when you crave something a little sweeter than plain popcorn!

Amazon Customer: The Flavacol Salt is a game changer for kettle made popcorn. Would give it 5 stars on its own for sure.... The other 2 flavours are awful. Impossible to use without burning the whole batch and makes a bad mess of the popper. Not good flavour anyways.

Larry O'Leary: This stuff is pretty good. I was a bit disappointed, because I had high expectations based on all the reviews that I saw on the product. I was really hoping for movie theater quality popcorn.
Perhaps I have to try different types of popcorn to really get a good feel for it. Don't get me wrong, it did make very good popcorn. But I was also very happy with just using some coconut oil, and a little bit of butter.
I use it in a stirring popper, which could be part of the issue that I have with it. It makes cleanup a very big pain!
This stuff is very easy to use! at least the butter flavor one is very easy to use. The caramel glaze, seems like it would be very very good, and it kind of is. The issue I have with it is that they don't really provide any instructions on how to use it. And in the steering popper, it burns very quickly. Searching online I can see that the suggestion is to pop as normal, but don't let all the kernels pop. And I think they really mean that. like perhaps you can only get 50% of the kernels to pop before it starts burning.
And using the caramel glaze, clean up was a major pain. It actually left quite a bit of residue and burnt on...

CS: The Flavacol is a must for movie theater popcorn, and it is a great product so use it as recommended in the instructions. You won't be disappointed. However, for the caramel and "sweet corn" (this is kettle corn flavor) glazes these are more finicky so you need to do a few things different than the instructions indicate to get the best results. First, don't max out your batches at any one popping. For example, we have a 12-ounce kettle and only use 2/3 of a batch. So we typically pop 1.5 cups for regular popcorn but when we use a glaze we cut that back to 1 cup. These glazes can get very sticky in the kettle and have a tendency to coat the early popped seeds better than the later popped seed, so if you pop large batches you won't get as good of coverage of the glaze. Also mix the popcorn really well after popping to distributed the heavy coated and light coated kernels, and this also helps get any un-popped seeds stuck to the kernels/glaze to fall out...so nobody breaks a tooth. Second, for any of the glazes use double the recommended amount. So use a 1:1 glaze to popcorn ratio instead of 1/2:1 ratio indicated by the instructions and you will get much better results.
