I finally bought this and have tried the blending stumps and sponges on a larger charcoal drawing I'm working on...I'm so glad I did, it makes it easier and more precise to get the technique and look your going for! Jennie Wren: The blending stumps are of great quality, and by adding the two sponges, yellow blenders, and kneaded eraser tou have a great range of blending tools for many effects. However one thing doesn’t make sense…?

After having recently purchased a large set of professional colored pencils, and having started to play around with some new coloring techniques I decided I needed a full set of blending stumps. I looked through all the options Amazon had to offer, and decided on this set. While other sets had more stumps for less money, this set came with two different shaped blending sponges, a kneaded eraser, and a little zipper pouch to keep everything in! I have a nice zippered portfolio for my pencils that holds them in their own individual elastic loops, but the portfolio does not have any pockets, so I thought the pouch was the perfect solution, and I wouldn’t have to sew my own for once!

After they arrived I quickly opened everything and went to organize it. However I soon found a major flaw in the system! The pouch is nothing fancy, but serviceable. A simple design made with simple felt, but very thick and well constructed. Unfortunately, it is too small to fit...

SAHM: For the price it’s not bad. I read a lot of reviews stating that their order did not come with the bag. My order however did come with the bag and everything in the picture. I was able to fit all the stumps in the bag except for the 2 sponges and 2 sandpaper’s. The bag isn’t the best quality but it’s ok and it zips. I would recommend this if you are looking for blending stumps.

Catnip NinjaCatnip Ninja: This is a great value for blending tools and accessories. The assortment of sizes of stumps and tortillons is great for a variety of art projects. There are three blending stumps with more fibrous, tissue-like material than paper that offer a focused ability to blend with tissue. It’s a softer blend but focused and pointed like a paper stump.

The sanding strips are standard quality and work well. Same for the kneaded eraser and pencil extender.

It includes two makeup blending sponges which I hadn’t thought about using before, but they make an interesting option for charcoal and softer media.
