Hosted a party in my backyard and was excited to add these floating candles to create a beautiful ambiance!!! Was very disappointed, when one of my guests screamed fire!!! The Chinese lantern had caught fire!! in the middle of the pool no less!! They also did not float nicely - kind of all drifted to the edge of the pool! overall very disappointed!!!!

You need to take your time opening each lantern. The rice paper tends to tear. But they are beautiful once lit and, in the water. I floated three in a pond at dusk. They burned for over 2 hours. Honoring the loss of my husband, they were just what I wanted. The lanterns that float up in the sky are banned where I live, so this was a nice substitution.

Product is good, comes with tea light candles and is sturdy. We ended up using out own LED tea lights and not the ones that came with it, regular wax candles. We used it in a pool and it looked really nice, but only lasted 3 hours. Being paper, water gets up in it, the whole thing drowns. Very pricy for one time use product.

These lanterns are good. There were many reviews about how awful they were but we didn't have issues, even on a windy day, with a bit of boat wake. We floated them into the Willamette River. Only one blew out just as it launched. The paper is a bit brittle and can crack easily if it's opened too quickly. The gold paper is also very stiff and we creased it away from it's original fold to hold the shape better. We drew on the sides with Sharpie and Copic markers. Recommend these over the more expensive, "unsinkable" lanterns. They are the same, these just don't have the seemingly unnecessary air packet glued to the bottom. No boards were necessary to float the lanterns.
