buyzalot: I really liked these. They held my shades perfectly on the light bulb which is what I needed as a traditional harp made that shades too high for the lamp base. Worked great except that the top piece was so long that the finial didn't tighten enough to hold the shade in place tightly. No worry because my lamp has a switch on the base so it doesn't effect the operation too much. I am going to try and put on a washer to see if that will work to tighten it, but I did take away one star for that flaw. Overall great value for money. Awesome that they were sold as a pair as I had a pair of lamps to fix, and they did work for the purpose intended. Saved sooo much money over buying new lampshades!!
