Dungeondog: First let me say this review is a bit premature but my excitement from the first testing prompted me to write this. I use a F.S. (food saver) vacuum sealer and have usually used their bags and rolls and they are $$$
What I've done so far
1) Measured the thickness of material of the smooth side of both products using a micrometer and found the difference is in the 4th decimal place. That being said I found no difference in the thickness in the smooth side.
2) Inspected the embossed side and found this product to have a more pronounced embossing compared to F.S. so it would measure thicker. I am assuming both sides of the bag are made from the same material the peaks and valleys from the embossing makes that side measure thicker
3) Vacuum sealed some items and put them in the freezer. This products material quickly pulled a good strong vacuum and a solid seal telling me the material was of good quality

I will update this review after a couple weeks to see if the vacuum holds. Past experience taught me that even though the vacuum sealer worked well the manufactured seal on the sides and defects in the material can cause vacuum leaks over time. But so far so good I...

Amazon Customer: Obviously a roll of fifty feet of knock-off brand sealer rolls won't be able to fit in most vacuum packers for the first half of the roll, so cutting them can be inconvenient at first. I usually cut bags less than 12 inches long and quite frankly, I will go through the inconvenience of having to feed them through the cutter in reverse to make my bags prior to packaging a pile of meat. a hundred feet of vacuum bag for $25?? sure beats $15-$20 per 20' roll like I see in all the stores for food saver brand bags. I just used them for the first time and they seemed to purge air just fine and sealed well on the first attempt. They did not seem flimsy like some other reviews state. My only unknown as of yet is if they hold up well at low freezer temperatures while being re-stacked. If they do, I will never go back to overpriced food saver bags. I mean come on Food saver, they're strips of plastic sheeting textured on one side, smooth on the other sealed down both sides. Food savers are supposed to save people money, not cost them 100-200 dollars when they do a large hunting or fishing trip. That's ridiculous and I am glad other merchants are undercutting your products. No legitimate...
