ChrisChris: I soaked them a bit before stuffing. No tears or rips. Used at least 12 in the smoker and no blowout. Peeled off easily after cooking from beef salami and pepperoni

michael lyon: So these casings are recommended with the backwoods 25lb sausage kit, there are only 16 casings and stuffed to the max I could get about a pound a piece in them. Secondly your paying a little over a dollar a piece for a casing which seems high to me because I could go to Walmart buy the 30lb sausage kit with the casings for basically same value. They are a good size for sharing and cook well. The casings themselves I'm pleased with but just know you will need 2 packs for a full 25lb kit. Overpriced but good quality imo.
