David Whitson: I spent a little extra on these because I wanted a good set that would last a while. I'm really glad I spent the extra. They cut really well, even on a curved contour. The never walk, and very little tear if any at all. Nice clean holes.

Phil: Without spending over $500 for a set of the top branded Forstner bits, I doubt you could do better than these. I have spent a little bit of time on each bit before I use it for the first time because I think they need smoother cutting edges, but I'm picky about things like that. They cut well right out of the box, but don't leave a perfectly smooth bottom. I can't speak to durability because I haven't had them long enough, but they seem to be doing a good job. PAY ATTENTION TO THE MAXIM SPEED RECOMMENDED, as running them too fast is the best way to end up unsatisfied. Large diameter bits need to run slowly.

Bethzaida Crespo: So far these have proven to be a good set - compared to never having a set.

I did a lot of reading and research on forstner bits and found the Porter set and thought, why not, I have to start somewhere.

They are sharp and cut through the 2x4 like butter. I was impressed that there was no tear out or marring.

The case is nice and it’s easy to get the bits out and put them back in.

The box is marked where each bit resides with the inch of that bit and each bit is also marked. Over time I suspect the inch markings will rub off of the shank.

They should make the inch identifier on the box a different color - the box is black and the inch numbers are also black so it’s very difficult to read. I guess when the box is molded and stamped it’s more work to make the numbers a different color.

Jessica Bourgeois: I use a lot of Porter Cable tools and this one is no exception, very high quality product "so far" I have not given these the years of use that my other Porter Cable stuff has gotten .... I only gave it 4 stars because the label says "Made by Porter Cable" and not "made by God" In some way....these tools are not perfect.... when I find that defect....if ever, I will certainly publish... but that will take a while I am sure. Love Porter Cable quality

Spencer in Seattle: The media could not be loaded.  I purchased this item after doing quite a bit of research online and comparing prices on Amazon and other sites. I even compared these to those sold in sets at my local stores, and these were a better deal. These bits are NOT A FREE SAMPLE or anything like that. I paid cash money for these bits.

My video pretty much says it all: this is a nice set of Forstner bits in a basic, functional case. As I mention in the video, I buy a lot of Porter Cable tools and accessories as they are priced right and tend to stand up over time. For those who like good quality but not the best, most expensive stuff -- Porter Cable works pretty well.

Note that this is not a bit set for use in hand drills and cordless drills. Forster bits are for use in a drill press where you can tighten the bit up and have plenty of torque behind your bit. As you can see in my video, I'm running a Delta drill press that's been a good one.

Tonatiuh Mellado: Me gustan mucho. En este tipo de herramienta hay que tener en cuenta algunos factores para obtener un corte limpio, una medida verdadera, un fondo plano y evitar forzar el taladro.

A mí parecer, estas brocas cumplen esos requisitos, aunque debo aclarar que el uso que les doy es mucho menos que industrial

· Buen filo: El filo tanto en dientes, centro y rompe astilla es parejo y de buena calidad; dejando buenos bordes, y fondos limpios.

· Buen zanco: Todos los zancos están bien terminados, bien centrados, sin variaciones y totalmente rectos (lo se pues medí su ancho a todo lo largo con un vernier y la rectitud con una escuadra L de calidad)

· El centro es verdadero: Por lo que no tambalean, ayudan a mantener las medidas planeadas en el producto final y mantienen el chuck del taladro en buen estado

· Los dientes están todos a nivel: En el plano horizontal, se encuentran todos a nivel, que junto al buen centrado, ayudan a mantener las piezas a trabajar en su lugar, sin saltos ni rotaciones inesperadas, aún con altas revoluciones.

· Excelente rompe astillas: Cumple muy bien tres funciones, mantener el talado sin sobrecalentamiento, no...

SJK: I have found these to be decent import quality carbon steel bits at a very good price. All of the bits have respectably sharp cutting edges and have worked well in the maple and pine that I've used them on so far, leaving nice smooth, clean holes with only a tiny dimple remaining in the bottom center. Using a drill press on low speed and a very slow, even feed rate seems to work best with most of these bits. Especially so with the larger 1-1/2", 1-5/8", 2" and 2-1/8" bits. For these larger bits PC recommends 500-RPM in soft wood and 250-RPM in hardwoods. The advertising blurb on the package says that these bits are over a $200.00 value when purchased individually. Even though it may be based on retail pricing, that claim may be a little bit of an embellishment on Porter Cables part. They are very nice, but IMO, this is not a $200.00+ set of forstner bits one way or the other. The storage case that comes with these is also pretty decent and holds the bits securely while preventing the cutting edges of the individual bits from contacting each other. Even though mine was in the original factory sealed blister packaging, I noticed that the bottom already had some rather deep scratches...
