Sean: A couple of these squeal so loud it’s almos frightening. Not sure what is wrong with them but I will be putting the old steel ones back in 100%. Might want to try a different vendor. I will contact seller and see about a replacement.

Jase: I bought this product out of all the option for garage door rollers on Amazon because it mentioned "sealed" bearings and 6200z as the actual bearing. I should of know the price was too good to be actual sealed bearings. These are the cheap 13 bearing nylon rollers that appear on Amazon for around $13 dollars. They are not sealed or shielded bearings in any way. For Shielded 6200z bearings expect to pay over $20 and then its a gamble. Home Depot sells Dura-Lift shielding 6200z 10 pack for $22.
Here is some info I've collected along the way with regards to bearings. 6200z bearings are shielded not sealed. And on top of that they are only shielded on one side. The 6200zz are shielded on both sides. You have to go to even more expensive models to get sealed bearings.
The being said the cheap bearings that were sent work so much better than the 30 year old metal bearings that were on my old wood garage door. Of course I'm not thrilled these were advertise incorrectly however they are in line pricewise with the other cheap bearings so I"m not too disappointed. I need 12 of them so I ended up order these AME 8006029 model rollers from 2 different sellers. One directly from Amazon...

Michael Kessler: Not as pictured (I believe it is called "capped") where the bearings are covered --- however they are SEALED which is all that matters to me. I messed with bearings a lot in my rollerblading/skating days. Unknown to me, but my original rollers were black nylon "like" but not ball bearing from what I could tell. Watch youtube videos on how to do the swap and these will make the door a little quieter. My 2-year-old son bedroom is right above the garage door and his is able to sleep through it opening/closing now with these plus the noise isolation bushing. Too bad my chain motor is so darn loud on its own.

Holflaffer: I'm not sure how many stars to rate these since it depends on what you want them for. From a quality standpoint, they're excellent, and worthy of 5 stars. The bearings do appear to be sealed so I expect that they'll last longer than I do. From a noise-reduction standpoint, I'd give these only 2 stars. The difference they made in noise, at least in my installation, was minimal. Just to make sure my mind/expectations didn't play tricks on me, I made a video of the door opening before and after the install. I then listened to the audio several times with headphones and, although there is a detectable difference in noise, it's small, maybe 10%.

Regarding the installation, search YouTube and watch how the pros do it. There are two methods - one is removing each hinge, but that takes a lot of time, and as noted in several other reviews, the bottom bracket is attached by a cable to a strong spring so removing that one can be dangerous. I chose the method where you bend a small opening in the track, which is a lot easier.

Mace ThomasMace Thomas: Whenever my wife or I would come home in the evening, it was always to the sound of the garage door making a lot of mechanical noise. After reading an article in one of my home magazines, I saw that one way to fix this was to replace the garage door rollers. Our rollers were approximately 15 years old at this point (5 to us) and I noticed that all of them were very greasy and oily looking. Assuming that their time had come, I decided to purchase the nylon sealed bearing kind for about 20 bucks (10 per set), as the unsealed were only a couple of bucks cheaper, so the difference was not major.

As this was the first time I had done something like this, it took about 5 minutes per hinge, but could be done in about a minute with a powered screwdriver and confidence. HOWEVER, the experts and the door itself caution you not to change out the bottom ones due to the constant tension that is applied and could cause you serious injury. This gave me pause, but as I had heard that having the door in the full open position was less dangerous, I opened the door. I tested the tension on the wire with my finger and found that it was not that bad, but with caution I continued to remove one...
