SSmith: These clippers/grooming shears were literally half the price of the Andis I was replacing.. I’ve only used them once so far, but I would venture to say they are sharper, or cut better than the andis ever did.. however, they do get hot much faster! I don’t know if it is my dog’s hair texture or what, but I couldn’t ever get the andis guards to work well and the guard that came with this trimmer was no different.. with that said, be warned that these cut quick, easy, and CLOSE. I got a bit too close to the skin in a couple of places and I feel that these could easily nick a pet’s skin if you’re not being pretty cautious.. all in all, they did a great job, but I can’t give 5 stars due to the heat and the guard issue..

Michael Dumbrell: I have two small dogs and they needed to be clipped every six weeks and so that represents $100 plus a tip to the groomer. Now, I take my time, particularly around the face and head and it works well. Not professional but still pretty good and the clipper paid for itself on first use. You might want to consider a good set of scissors as well with several angles and features for the head and tail.
