Hillary and Robert Bergeron: I use this for cleaning oil painting brushes for art classes and it does the trick. I don't smell an overwhelming scent of thinner. However, be sure to wear gloves since this product is very toxic on skin. I have to say though that it does clean several brushes a day (sometimes 60 washings) and it really works. I usually have two cleaning stations where I have a first wash and then a cleaner bucket for 2nd wash. After a little time, I can clean out both buckets, getting rid of the paint sludge in the bottom and keep using the thinner for the 1st wash. I even use clean thinner on my art to loosen the paint and it works perfectly.
