Nisarg patel: It's a good read. But the reality is that the book does not suffice for even 1% of the actual knowledge needed to be the like the investors mentioned in it. My point is many readers would be tempted to be an investor like this and end by loosing a big money. However the good part is that it's an initiation into becoming a good investor.

Amy: It’s a great idea for a book and very well done. I think it highlights an important aspect of the style and thinking involved in making decisions in areas where the consensus is not necessarily correct. One of the best books I’ve read recently. I really enjoyed it and would love a second and third volume. The author asks really good questions in writing the book and in podcast episodes I’ve heard and the writing is excellent.

Richard Lam: I wished this book was available 30 years ago when I first started investing in my 20’s. There is so much practical advice and investment wisdom offered in this book. It will benefit anyone whether your a novice or experienced investor. I’m certainly RICHER, WISER, and HAPPIER after reading this book. Loved the background stories on each of the money managers. I plan on reading it multiple times to fully absorb the ideas. Thank you Mr. William Green for creating this masterpiece!

Jack Jurgovan: Great book - filled with wisdom. This is what I imagine a modern version of William Thorndike's The Outsiders would be. A fantastic collection of great investors of different eras. In my opinion, this book contains far more worldly wisdom than tactical investment advice.

Louis Liu: The author, William Green, is a writer who used to ‘dismiss Wall Street as a casino full of crass speculators who cared only about money’ has now written a book about investing. He should have read a lot about stocks and funds and he interviewed many of the best investors in the business as a journalist. This book is about the principles, processes, insights, habits and personality traits that the successful investors have that allowed them to beat the market. They include Sir John Templeton, Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger, Ed Thorp, Guy Spier, Bill Miller, Mohnish Pabrai, Howard Mark, Matthew McLennan, Joel Greenblatt, Nick Sleep and Qais Zakaria, Tom Gayner, etc. These brilliant people teach us how to become rich, and how to live and how to reach decisions. These are the titans of the investment world who can help us to become richer, wiser, and happier.
Chapter 1 introduces Mohnish Pabrai, an Indian-American investor. Pahrai’s hero is Warren Buffett after he read about him in Peter Lynch’s book One Up on Wall Street. In the book he learnt that Buffett, Berkshire Hathaway’s chairman and CEO had accumulated investment returns of 31 percent annually over...

Elisa Ovadia: I was immediately drawn to book since I follow Buffett, Munger, Mohnish Pabrai, Howard Marks, Tom Gaynor, Guy Spier, and Phil Town. This book was like reading Harry Potter the day it was released. This book summarizes how to think about long term investing in the only way that has consistently beaten the market over long periods of time. The content of this book is fantastic but I find it frustrating that the author states multiple times that he is a writer and not specialized in investing like the best minds he has interviewed and therefore indexing, diversification, and giving your money to a low cost fund is often the best choice for himself and many others. I completely disagree. As Buffett says, if you have modicum of interest and can be patient you can do well. You must absolutely understand that the power of compound interest is the 8th wonder of the world as Einstein said. Compound interest can work against you, as John Boggle said high fees of 2% kill your average return in the stock market and after 30 years you are left with half as much money compared to that if you have 0% fee. Compound interest can also work for you, as if you seriously study and apply these lessons...
