R. Burns: Converted to veganism about a year ago and had not heard about black salt until about a month ago when a chef friend told me about it and gave me a small dash to try. It made my faux eggs taste so real! I like to sprinkle just a tiny amount on avocado toast, JustEgg, and even vegan fried rice (quinoa) to give it that little extra bit of flavor. Next I want to try making a chickpea mock egg salad using this.
The tiniest bit goes a long way which makes up for the price

Michael Waddell: This salt has no scent, but it has a very distinct sulfury-eggy flavor. My wife is vegan, and when we make tofu scramble, we use this and a little turmeric to really adds an authentic flavor and color. There's nothing like it. The container feels very solid, and the top doesn't easily break.

MonicaSkyyMonicaSkyy: I love kala namak/black salt because as a vegetarian it is an interesting way to get an "eggy" flavour into vegan foods. (example: vegan "egg salad", or vegan scrambled "eggs") HOWEVER, I was NOT impressed with the purchase from this seller. First of all, it took 3 weeks to arrive. Secondly, it arrived in an unsealed, regular ziplock baggie marked with a sharpie of the contents. (see photo) I'm sorry, but I do not trust something I am going to ingest that has been sent to me by a stranger in a plastic ziplock. I was expecting a factory sealed package, not a random mystery package that while it smelled like kala namak, who knows what it may else contain. Not impressed. I requested a refund and it was given to me promptly, so that is good. But it was a huge disappointment to receive such an unsanitary/unprofessional product. I will stick with my regular spice vendor from now on. Lesson learned.

Kari: My wife originally bought this for her tofu scramble. The flavor is amazing!! It give the tofu a good egg taste. I even put it on regular eggs to boost the flavor.
