Sacrosanct: I can’t get enough of Red Hood man!!! Amazing story very well executed, none of the characters were bland or boring they were so well saturated!

C. Bridge: As a bat family fan, eventually I couldn't resist checking out it's mouthy black sheep in his very own series. Despite the ambiguity of Jason Todd's resurrection and the messy way Lobdell throws the Outlaws together, this comic has it's own unique, zany charm far removed from the rest of the bat family.

As outlaws, Todd and friends are not appreciated by almost everyone they encounter, superhero or otherwise but it doesn't stop them from dispensing their own morally ambiguous brand of justice. The main characters have a funny and unpredictable dynamic that carries into every crazy scenario they find themselves from fighting typical mobsters, to magical shadow demons, to outer space, (in volume 2).

My only complaint is the very quick shift in the character of princess Koriand'r who starts off as emasculating, independent, and emotionally aloof but suddenly finds the lovable goof Arsenal appealing enough to start a sort of not-relationship with. Because no woman, alien or otherwise is really out of any guy's league, right?

Anyone looking for something different and fun without too much angst and inner turmoil should dig this comic.

K. Pring: How do you bring together a team of people who are so dysfunctional they're lucky not to kill themselves? This was a good start. Red Hood and the Outlaws is a fantastic read. I recommend a video review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSwV6GZ6OLs; it's not me but it gives a great overview of the series as a whole, granted it takes a bit for the reviewer to arrive there. My personal option is not a well rounded or stated but I'm just such a massive fan of DC's the New 52 that I had to try out all the books and this one is one of my favorites. Thanks for reading (and possibly seeing the video review) and have a nice day.

wilf.nelson: I should like this comic but I just don't. I read a review where someone said it was juvenile and I have to agree. The premise is Jason Todd is found by Starfire who rescues him after he is wounded, he then proceeds to sex him up and then they decide to fight crime and get Arsenal from a maximum security prison. After that Todd decides they should all sort of fight crime while half not to maintain appearing cool on their deserted island with an alien space ship and then Starfire sexes up Arsenal. The plot then proceeds to discuss aliens and finally mystic old as time cults with supernatural assassins.

It just lacks the depth of other properly written DC comics. It wants to be Batman with a super intelligence protagonist but constantly points out Todd isn't Batman. It wants to be all sexy with Starfire being half dressed at all times, and undressed off scene the rest of the time but then never goes into that with any proper gusto so it feels more like titillation than any actual attempt at story telling and well Arsenal is the least compelling hero I've come across in years. There is down on your luck and great fighter anti hero etc etc and then there is just down on your...

Matthew Peterson: I had heard a lot of negative things about this series going in. The biggest being what the new 52 did to Starfire. Her new costume shows off her body more than the old one did. Her personality is not so different, but it will turn off long time fans of the character.

The new art style of the series is well done. Yes they cranked up Starfire's sex appeal to sell more issues but the industry has done that for years. So I can't judge this on that.

The story in this volume is a bit slow. Still interesting but not all action packed. I think that it has a good mix of action. It tries to show you Red Hood's past after his return to life. Which is a good way to make the reader care about an anti-hero protagonist.

My final verdict is a positive one. If you read this without thinking of how the characters were before and treat it like a new series it is enjoyable as the story goes on.

Bradley Paul Valentine: this is one of those titles that comic “lovers” seem to have an opinion on even without reading. You’ll hear how bad the characters are, how bad Scott Lobdell’s writing is and how sexist the book is because of how Starfire is portrayed. Here’s the thing. None of that is true. Like at all. I agree Lobdell has usually be a kind of minor leaguer in terms of writing. But as of late 2013, he’s writing almost all of my favorite books (Red Hood, Superman, Superboy). the stories all feel like what they should be. FUN. Smart. And *human.* there is a lot of heart here. Which is surprising given I tend to to think Lobdell comes off as a bit of a weenie in his interviews and Youtube shows.

My favorite aspect of Lobdell’s contribution is FINALLY realizing Roy Harper (Arsenal) as a well rounded character. the form he has been working towards from the start. He’s a major league character now, Roy Harper. And Starfire is an interesting love choice for him. this book is about three outcasts seeking to make a family with one another. Somehow a lot of people have missed this entirely, instead choosing to focus on Starfire’s admittedly skimpy suit as evidence of shallowness...

Stranger: I've read a fair few new 52 titles but none off them have made me smile quite as much as this one, yes it is a bit juvenile and very over sexed (and I mean VERY) but it also has great humour and also surprisingly a lot of heart (get to the bit about Jason's most cherished memory and you'll see what I mean).

The three protagonists are Jason 'Red Hood' Todd ex-robin, ex-villain and ex-corpse a man still trying to come to terms with his death and revival, Roy 'Arsenal' Harper discarded sidekick of Green Arrow with a loud mouth and a history of addiction and Princess Koriand'r an alien princess with memory issues known as Starfire and the theme off the book is these three highly damaged heroes coming together because frankly they are all each other have, and this is really the central concept these three realising that although they prefer to work alone and have huge trust issues and varying amounts of emotion trauma that there is a place in the world for them together.

Now on the whole this is a great book good art, a lot of action plenty of humour and as I mentioned before a surprised amount of heart underneath it to hold it all together (there also is a plot about...

Ignatz72: "Red Hood and the Outlaws" macht Spaß.

Deborah Ramos-Galvan: I just got finished reading vol. 1 and I liked it so much, that I am already writing a review for it! And that says A LOT about how GOOD the trade is on it's own! Let me start by saying something almost forbidden, I think Jason Todd might actually be my favorite "Robin" even though he is the Red Hood now. He is just such an interesting piece of the puzzle that is the Bat-Family! Death was just about the best thing that could've happened to Jason Todd and the Bat verse, and this has been proven more than once in Red Hood the Lost days, Hush, and Under the Red Hood (note these stories are listed in chronological order so if you choose to read them, which you definitely should, if you keep them in this order it will help bring fluidity to Jason's timeline)

When Jason Todd comes into Red Hood: Redemption, you see how slowly he is actually starting to heal and little by little he is finding his inner Hero again. He meets up with 2 other "outcasts" (StarFire and Arsenal) and they quickly start to become a surrogate family for Jason. The story is both very fun and fluid. There is plenty of action, just enough mystery, and even a little dash of mysticism, to keep you invested in...
