Cerro Yaguajay: Many of the negative reviews reported that the product had a fungus. Some of the nuts in the bag I just received had black rot, and I’m sure it is a mold. The nuts were soft, so maybe they rot easily. There was no expiry date on the bag. I considered giving them to the squirrels, but my wife pointed out that it might make them sick. They are in a sealed bag in my garbage can

J. Bambrough: I make nut milk with these almonds so it is important they are fresh. I have issues with lectins so these being blanched is very important to my health, they do an excellent job of removing the skins. Candace WellsCandace Wells: The nuts in the squirrel feeder are the regular almonds but used the blanched almonds as well. The squirrels really aren’t that discerning. Although the blanched nuts are far less messy to clean up after. I must say they are quite delicious!

Mary: I was impressed with how fresh these almonds were. Absolutely no rancidity. Blanching makes them easier to digest and therefore much healthier. Making almond milk is a cinch, as there is no need to presoak, and then go through the difficulty of removing all the skins. Not having skins also makes roasting them much easier, as the color is easily visible.
