David Green: This beard oil has a nice, subtle sent to it. But, more importantly, it's not very greasy. I put it on, and there is a little residue, but after 45 minutes the residue is gone, which is amazing. A good beard oil test is for you to put your phone to your ear and see what is on your screen. After about 45 minutes, there's nothing on my screen. This is going to be my go-to beard oil, now I'm going to order some of their balm.

Bob: Mountaineer beard oil does what it says. After a few days, I noticed my beard was softer and moisturized. The oil was not greasy. I liked the fact that the product is made in West Virginia and capitalizes on the timber theme of that beautiful state. It was packed well and shipped quickly.

MICHAEL M.: I've been a Mountaineer fan for about 5 years now and this is the first time I've tried their beard oil (WV Timber scent). First, I think too many of these reviews get hung up on the scent which is too subjective. The oil itself is the real star. It's light, not too oily and it grooms those stray hairs really well. I've started using this on my mustache too because it's just so light and easy. As for the scent, I can barely smell it. Not the pine tree explosion I was expecting. I'll probably try Coal next. But what I'd really like is for them to make this in Cedar which is their best mustache wax scent IMO.

Newman: I have been buying the Mountaineer brand beard oil (in WV Timber) since it first came about. I would say that I have maybe gone through 20 bottles or so in that timeframe, feeling that it is a great product at fair price. I also like their beard shampoo as well and have at least gone through 10 of these as well. It is has got to the point that by each for me as gifts during the holiday season.

With all that being said, I decided to give the WV Coal version a try to change things up (both in the beard oil and the beard shampoo). First came the shampoo, the scent in my opinion is a mix of a number of scents but peppermint and patchouli stand out prominently. To me, this is a very pleasant scent and while the strength of the shampoo aroma dissipates after the shower there is still a light scent that remains.

Upon receiving the beard oil, this too had the same scent as the shampoo but where it differs is that the scent remains nicely strong. With the Timber, the scent was very light and, in my opinion, somewhat neutral shortly after applying it. Alex Owen: Good value for money. Smell is okay (not the best on the market). But does what it is supposed to do. Only issue is the bottle itself. No matter how you put the oil in your hands, it drips down the side of the bottle. Needs to have a better applicator.
